Bought this to read a card which was found in an old camera that no longer worked in my grandparents' drawer. They were both curious to see what pictures they had taken but we had no way of reading the memory card so this was bought.It arrived quickly and is very simple to set up. Simply insert the memory card into the correct slot and plug the USB into the computer and it reads the card. They were able to see photos they had taken almost 10 years ago on holiday

Works very well, plug in and use

Bought this to add a media drive for my daughters TV. First impressions were it looked perfect the pink was great for my daughter.Connected this to my computer and checked the transfer speeds, as with other reviewers I was shocked by the 30mb/s speed. I then checked the cable supplied and discovered it was poor quality and causing the problem. After swapping the cable speeds jumped to 109mb/s. Shame they supplied a poor quality cable as this has caused multiple poor reviews.

Used with a spare 750gb laptop hard drive. Works excellent. Could not ask more for this price.

I ordered a red one which I got. But the plastic is translucent and you can see through it. The Sata connector panel is not fixed and floats about a bit with the drive in the box. So the thing is really poor quality, but it is very cheap! Performance put a Samsung SSD into mine, it works OK and is fairly fast.. But if you move the whole thing about when in use, it does sometimes dropout and file transfer etc then fails. Moral you get what you pay for. Does the job though and gets those old drives into use.

The price is consistent with the cheap plastic housing. It works well enough, but I have no information on the chipset, data transfer rates or likely longevity. I used it to 'recycle' some old SATA 2 laptop drives for storing/moving video files. Fine for that undemanding purpose.
