If the remote will switch on and off and the volume control works I would say that the channel change button has worn out as it is the most used I had the same problem so I got a new remote.

Q: bought this get rid of AV symbol on old bravia. online it seems to say the i+ button on the original remote does it. Is there an equivalent on this?

Yes there is an i+ on it. If you click on the remote to enlarge it you will see the symbol is just to the left of the Netflix button.

Q: Which button do you use to jump through the pages of the TV guide?

Where the ok button is use the left right up down that surrounds it.

Q: My Sony Bravia is quite old, it's a flat screen but not a smart tv. Will this remote control still work with it?

I am not sure my TV is a smart TV, but not a new or modern one. Sorry. I went through three of these before I found one that worked. They all claimed they would work but only this one did work with my TV.
