Clarion M505 Boating Radios

I replaced the stock clarion stereo in my Yamaha boat with this one. It worked great easy install as it pluged right into the existing wire harness that was in there (Clarion M101 I believe was the existing unit). I gained much easier controls, blue tooth nice, iinputs on front and added a powered subwoofer and am pretty happy with the results. Unfortunately, the remote control that it comes with is very week and must be line of sight. I bought the Clarion MF1 remote but it did not work out of the box and in the end I returned it. When I figure out where to mount a remote it I'll probably try the MW1 remote.

Replaced the old clarion in my boat with this new model and very pleased with it. Running my front and back speakers independently now through an amp and it sounds great. Disappointed that my existing hard wired remote control doesn't work with this so had to spend another $200 on a new remote and cable. The remote supplied is pretty useless as it doesn't work unless there is direct line of sight to the receiver.

Bought this used. It turned out to be one of the best Marine Stereos' I have ever purchased, years on and it is still working like a charm. I would definitely purchase it again as it has proven it's robustness and worth in the unforgiving marine salt air environment, and and keep on ticking like clock work!! Go Clarion!!

A very good marine stereo. I installed it as a replacement for the original in my Searay. I did order the new MW1 to replace the original remote on the dash. My project for this week but I don't think it will be too bad.It is the same size as the old unit and installed easily butt the connector is different so I had to cut the old wires and reconnect them.Thankfully Clarion uses the same color code as the old unit so that helped a lot with installation. Sounds a lot better than the old unit and I love the blue tooth.

Bluetooth feature stopped functioning, used about 20 times. Customer service assisted as they were able. Unit is under warranty, but warranty requires you send in the unit to an authorized repair center at my own expense. Unless you are fortunate enough to live near one of the service centers. If the unit functioned as it was supposed to I would be a happy camper with the features. I bought it mostly for the Bluetooth features. As is I am pretty disappointed in clarion and the warranty return process. UPDATE. one month later the unit has not been repaired and returned, The service center claims the parts have been on order for 4 weeks.

Upgraded my M455A in my Rinker boat to the M505. Went in very easy overall. Harness from old head unit plugged right into the new one and was up and running. Have the older style wired 6-pin wired remotes for now. Used an adapter to plug the into the 8-pin connector on new unit. All buttons work as they should ok the remotes, but you lose the display. I'll be upgrading them to the new style remotes and running new cables. Great sounding stereo! Much easier to use than the old head unit also!

Bought this to replace and upgrade original Clarion M275 unit in my SeaRay. Item was plug and play. Required no additional hardware, or wiring. Unit is not difficult to learn, and set up was a cinch. Installed, set stations, set up pandora, and bluetooth devices in less than 20 mins. Sound quality is outstanding, and there is plenty of power to drive front and rear speakers. If you are looking to update, I would recommend this item.

Not sure if the unit I have is defective or not, but while playing audio from a Bluetooth device, you can not control the volume like with all other Bluetooth playing devices. If you turn volume in your phone up or down it makes no difference to the head Unit unless you turn volume to 0 then the audio turns off completely. This is big enough issue for us that we are now shopping a different head unit. On a positive note, the Bluetooth has extremely good distance reception.

Bought this one as recommended for a replacement for my current boat radio, but the new one is not is not compatible with the remote marine control. So now I have to spend another $170 . Not such a great deal after all.

Sounds like a high end unit but without the price you'd expect. Installation was easy although you have to make certain the plug behind the unit is plugged in tight. After 20 hours. Still no issues

Great Radio, sounds great, easy install, love the bluetooth feature so I can control the radio from my phone wirelessly from anywhere.
