I have a camera that takes 360 videos. That's great except the files are extremely large. They are 1 GB per minute of video in size at 5.7 K resolution. This means that with a limited amount of memory capacity within the camera itself I will need to offload the video quite often from the camera to my android tablet's SD card. Once it is on my tablet I can offload files to USB drives if I need more space.The only way to offload files from the camera to the tablet directly without this adapter is through the camera software. This is a tedious operation that requires bringing up each file independently in the software and then using the software to transfer it to the tablet. Once on the tablet it will need to be moved to the SD card of the tablet where all the memory storage is located. Once on the tablet the files on the camera need to be erased. And remember this is a file by file operation. And the actual transfer rate is very slow. This is where the USB type-C/OTG card reader comes in handy. The SD card from the camera is simply placed in the card reader and using the USB-type C side of the connector it is inserted in the tablet. At that point all of the files on the SD card can be tagged and move directly to the SD card of the tablet. Once safely on the tablet the files on the camera's SD card can be erased making room for more video.I ran some speed tests on the connector and I would consider the speed very good on the USB type-C side at 30 seconds per gigabyte transfer rate and lightning speed on the USB-type A 3.0 side connected to my computer at 8 seconds per gigabyte transfer rate. Since my tablet uses a USB-type C this means that back at my hotel room I can transfer an hour's worth of video for the day in about 30 minutes.This is a very handy connector because it can accommodate both USB-type A (this is your traditional rectangular USB connection that goes into your computer) and USB-type C (this is a popular connector type that is used by many android tablets and phones). If you need this type of connector then this one works very well.

I finally found something that works with my new Samsung Galaxy Tab S6! One of the reasons I bought the tablet was it's supposed to work with up to a 512GB MicroSD card. It doesn't. After buying the 1st 512GB card and then a 400GB card I could only get a 256GB card to work. I stumbled across this unit and it works great. I tested the 512GB card and the 400GB card that didn't work in the tablet and the cards work great. For just a few dollars I have increased my external storage capacity to as many drives I want. It's small, durable, it feels tough. I mean not jump up and down tough but if you drop it, it won't shatter. I'm pleased.

Very versatile for the price. Withheld one star because the illustrative photo showed an SD card but if I'd read the listing more carefully I would have seen there wasn't a card. 83% 4 or 5 star reviews influenced my purchase decision. Seems to be sturdy and well made and it's plug and play so no power is required by the device. Works for computers, phones, tablets, etc. Has protective caps to cover the USB and other connector. Fast transfer of data. For $10 this is a quality card reader and I recommend it. With Prime it ships free and there wasn't any sales tax which makes it an even better value. Got it in 2 days.

I have a nice camera that requires a special cord to upload the pictures to my computer and cloud account. If I forget the cord when we travel, I have run out of storage on the card in the camera. This compact little devise fits in my camera case where I keep it and works great to eliminate the problem of remembering and looking for the cord. It is easier to remove the card and put it in the computer than using the cord attached to the big heavy camera. I love how easy it is to use.

For its intended purpose, which was to transfer photos from an old phone to my computer. And it seems to accommodate various sizes of SD cards, so is flexible.

One of the services I provide requires a video recording of parent-child interaction. Having this reader allows me to record on one device and uploading to another device with the reader. Typically I record with my phone and this allows me to show the replay of the video on a different device. I have been able to use it with all my laptops and my surface pro. So far, I am liking it as it means I don't have to cart a laptop when I meet with clients.
