I received this mat this evening, and to my surprise it is thick. I mean very thick. I have it on a high pile carpeted surface. It will be interesting how it will be to vacuum from my carpet to the mat, or if my chair rolls off (as it's a bit smaller in width than I needed). Except for that it is as described. The little grippy circles on the back will help keep it in place when I roll my chair. My last mat left a dark circle from rolling but this one will not I can already tell. So, still giving it 5 stars, even if I end up stubbing my toe on the edge (which is a high probability because of my own clumsiness LOL), it is serving it's purpose protecting my white carpets.If I do stub my toe, or my cats get sick on it and it wont clean up I will update my review. Otherwise, 5 Stars.

This is a good looking high quality mat. I'm using it in my home office on a COREtec floor and love it so much I'm buying another for use in the main house on a hardwood floor. It looks like a nice carpet but is stiff and will definitely protect your floor. I was hesitant at first because of the price but it is worth it. It lays flat and has a slip resistant bottom.

This has been a game changer, both for my carpet, and for my patience! I work from home and it is so annoying to have to scoot really hard when using my chair on medium/high pile carpet when moving from my main desk to my work desk, and after a few months of having it, it still looks brand new (if not better).Certainly pricey, but seems like a well designed, reliable, and strudy little unit! Much better functionality than plastic (bending, cracking, ugly), and tempered glass (more fragile, and ugly in my opinion).It has the perfect amount of friction. You can move easily, but it doesn't feel like you're sitting on ice (like tempered glass).Definitely get the 1/2" thick version for anything besides low pile, firm carpet.

This mat is beautifull. I was so tired of the plastic mats that crack and never look nice. I thought about a glass mat but really wanted something more classy and this mat delivers! I bought the Meknes 36x48 and there's plenty of rolling room in front of a single desk. Spent a little extra and purchased the 1/2 thickness. Just pop it out of the box and lay it down. This mat defines the desk space and transforms it into an inviting area.

I used this on very plush carpet for my rolling office chair. It works well. The chair rolls easily however right where the mat folds at the seam is cracked or separates slightly when weight from my chair wheel is right on the seam. It causes the seam to lift up slightly and then there is a bit of a “bump” or “edge” to roll over. If I smash it down with my heel then it goes back into place. It is a bit annoying but other than that the chair pad seems to work very well. All those other clear plastic mats I have tried kept cracking or would not allow my chair to roll properly because of how thick the carpet was under it. This one seems to work best so far.

I love this mat. It’s great at protecting the wood floor. Easy to roll on/smooth. This mat is heavy and won’t move around when you roll over it. It looks nice (similar to a rug). What a great update from the fuddy old plastic chair mat!

This chair mat is quite impressive and amazing. It looks and feels so much better than the normal clear plastic ones we've used for years. Thought about getting a glass matt. But could not get over the concerns about it cracking and the high price for the better ones.Love the design. It feels like it will hold up well over time. It ships folded but once you open it up the fold seam magically disappears.
