Very happy with this knock box for espresso portafilters. Very easy to use, great design that limits mess. Easy to empty out and wash clean after using. Fits about four pucks before needing to be emptied. The knock area is solid and very effective.

If you have a Ninja Luxe Café Espresso Machine this is the knock box for you! I tried two other knock boxes that were stainless and much prettier but the portafilter was too large to fit them. So I ordered this one and it's awesome. It's the right size for the oversized portafilter and it's definitely well made. It's made in Germany and it's of good quality; although I'd love to see the same version done in a shiny stainless steel to match the machine better. Anyway, it works great! and after hours of searching it was the best one I could find to fit.

Great knock box. Simple and easy to use and holds plenty of spent grounds. The plastic material is very durable and easy to dump.

Just got this little guy today, and of course I had to make myself an espresso to try it out. What can I say? It works! Nothing falls out of the filter when you tap it against the pad. The pad seems sturdy enough to take a decent amount of abuse - I don't plan on abusing it, but its whole purpose is to have something knocked against it every morning by someone who hasn't had their coffee yet! I was surprised at how many grounds this is going to be able to hold. I was worried it was going to be too small, but it's a good size and it won't take up too much space on the counter. Looks simple to clean - we compost our grounds, so we just have dump them into the compost bin. Mine looks a little different than the picture above because it doesn't seem to have the three orange round things on the side. But I can't see what they are from here so they may just be part of the ad or something. But overall--this was a great buy at an affordable price. Thank you!

This is the perfect design for a home kitchen knock box. The little knocking lip is super sturdy, and it's got a protective coating that is a firm rubber. I usually pack my portafilter too tight, so I can't just knock the handle or I'll throw the whole inner cup out of it. I have to hit the rim of the portafilter pretty hard, and this works sooooo beautifully, in one strike, and it absorbs the sound, the bottom is cushioned so I can do it even on my wood countertop island...I love it. I have tried several other brands and styles, and they made a huge mess, because the knock bar is usually coated in very thick, spongey rubber, and the portafilter BOUNCES off of it like a dang trampoline and spews coffee grounds all over my kitchen! 😱

I love this thing. It is a great knock box in that it is easy to use to knock grinds out, it does not make a mess on the counter, it is quiet and sturdy with good dampening, and super easy to clean. It is my first knock box, but seems like it is cleaner to knock into and easier to clean than the bar variety. PLUS - you can tamp in it (rest the arm on the knock ledge, and it is wide and deep enough to hold a double shot head), so loose grinds are collected in it and not on the counter. PLUS - I have a Eureka Mignon Perfetto grinder, and elevated on a trivet, you can grind into the portafliter over/into this knock box, so extra grinds are collected in the knock box instead of lost on the counter. PLUS - Easy to empty grinds into a large grinds collection container for gardening, etc. The only downside is that it is made of plastic. It is high quality, modern and nice looking plastic, and I am sure the plastic makes it quieter to use while being easy to clean and relatively cheap, but it does look like (nice) plastic. It looks fine by my Euerka grinder and Breville espresso machine, in my marble-wolf-subzero kitchen, but if you are really into aesthetics, this is good, not great.

Love it! I love the fact that I knock the portafilter on the side of the box versus over a bar in the middle. I like the simple look of it and that it is black. I didn’t want every accessory that I purchased to go with my Ninja Luxe Pro to be Ninja branded, and I did not want a stainless colored one.

Simple and effective design but the material of the box could have been improved to a more durable and softer material to absorb the impact better. The box is made of HARD plastic. If being knocked on often everyday, I can se that it will crack for sure under a thin rubber edge cushion. The only material that can absorb the shock or physical impact the best is rubber or silicone...and NEVER hard plastic, ceramic, metal, or wood. That goes for the noise minimizing as well. I tried knocking my portafilter on the small thin rubber/silicone cushion of this knock box and it was still loud, even with the rubber cushion ring on the outer bottom of the box, just like I was knocking on the edge of the plastic trash can. I do not pack my portafilter tightly so only need one or two knocks at the most for the puck of coffee to come out. Unless the box already has some wasted coffee, the puck screen dropped loudly on the bottom when the box is empty. The size of the box is also big for me. I plan on emptying the knock box everyday as I don’t want the coffee waste sit in it without a lid for few days on the kitchen counter. A knock box is a must-have item if you use a puck screen for your portafilter, as you don’t want the screen to fall in the trash can when emptying the portafilter, or try to get it out using your fingers. Other than that, you don't really need a noisy knock box to clutter your countertop. Or just look for a knock box that is made of softer material. It will last longer that way with all the knocking and also eliminate the noise for real. The hunt for a good compact knock box is still on for me.

Great knock box. I like the fact it doesn't have a bar across the centre and instead as a lip at the edge for knocking the portafilter. Makes it a lot easier to empty and clean.
