SC Johnson Paste Wax- 16 oz (1lb)

This wax works really well, when polishing up my table saw service. Great Protection, easy to use. Buffs to a fine shine. Dries quickly and is very smooth. I like to keep my equipment clean. Highly recommend this product, when it can be found. Best wax on the market. M G

I really don't understand why reviewers would complain that it stinks ( it smells like wax!,), it NOT watery or a 'gloppy green'. It's Not hard to scoop out of the can but its NOT watery and it does have a slight tinge of olive coloring to it ( no it's NOT gross. From the reviews I was expecting something like 'The Alien' to jump out of the can. Very easy to use, great product except i do wish the shine was a bit glossier). Great price point. No, it is NOT gross to use.

I was born in 1939 and grew up hearing the sound of my (Bushia's (Grandmother's in Polish) 1916 Singer treadle sewing machine going ta-pa-ket-ta-pa-ket-ta-pa-ket, and probably banged my head standing up under it when I was a toddler. Today I still use her machine and hear the same ta-pa-ket. Every week on Wednesday, Busia would clean the house, ending up with her sewing machine. She always used this Johnson&Johnson wax to bring her machine to the beautiful rich shine that endures today with my use of J&J's fine product! As everyone knows, the better the finish on a fine antique, the more dollar value when you come to sell it... Well, I will never sell my Bushia's sewing machine, and my Granddaughter has promised she'll take it when I'm gone, and she'll keep polishing it with J&J! BTW, my master mechanic son listened to the machine with his stethoscope, and it runs so well he could not hear anything- not a click or a squeak! Busia always said her 3-in-1 was the best and I think she was right!

Been using commercial paste wax in 5 gallons cans for years till they stopped making them. Could not find a good dependable, easy wax to use till we found Johnson's paste wax. As the pictures show you, we did a 16 X 18' kitchen and a 15' X 15' pantry in a little over an hour every week with magnificent results that keeps my honey very happy. When she buffs in between my weekly waxing, it looks just as good as newly waxed. The price is reasonable compared to other products on the market. The results are incomparable to all other waxes.

I'm not a professional so 16oz seems to be way more than I need, but I'm sure I'll find more and more uses as time goes on. So far this has gone on my table saw, band saw, circular saw, jig saw and all the jigs that go with those tools. I will be using it on wood drawers and who knows what else. For $11 its definitely worth it as your drawers will slide in and out much easier, and your cuts will be nicer and safer (which will lead to better projects). Life's too short to mess up cuts because jigs or work pieces get stuck or don't slide smoothly, and its definitely too short to wrestle with sticky drawers (not those kind!).

I hate this stuff. I hate the smell. I hate the feel of it. I don't dare get it on my skin. However, I have several old dressers/cabinets that have sticking drawers, and the humidity in my Southern state causes them to become apparently permanently stuck. The only preventive I have found is Johnson's paste wax. I lightly sand the edges of the dresser drawers and apply a coat of the wax, let it sit a while, and buff it with a soft cloth. It makes the drawers glide in and out smoothly, good as new. I recommend using this product in a well-ventilated area on a breezy day. I know gun enthusiasts who like to use the wax on the wood parts of their collector's items. It seems to repel dust, and definitely prevents molding in humid rooms.

I've used this as a final finish and rust preventative for years, and I love the stuff. It has gotten harder to find on local store shelves, because nobody waxes floors anymore. I used this as a rust preventative for years before I finally saw how amazing it really is. I have a large anvil in an unheated space. The weather turned cool and humid, and that large hunk of cool steel started sweating like a glass of iced tea on a hot summer day. I had witnessed this effect on many machined surfaces over the years, but I never saw anything sweat so much it developed a thick film of water. The water film was so thick, in fact, that I couldn't wipe it off. Of course, my expensive anvil started to rust, and this presented a serious crisis situation. What to do? So I slathered it with SC Johnson paste wax, and lo and behold, the anvil no longer sweats! I expected the wax to form a protective film that would keep the condensed water from pooling on top of the steel. What actually happens is that no film of water even forms! I'm not a chemist or an engineer or a physicist, so I have no idea how that works on an atomic level. I just know it's utterly cool as can be to see the anvil that was once coated in a permanent thick film of water now sitting there bone dry in an unheated, humid, cool space. Wow!

So this stuff arrived last week, and it looks like a green wet smelly petroleum pie with no solidity. We pulled out my father's old can of paste wax. Bear in mind his version is pre-SC on the can, so I imagine there was some sort of business merger or change of hands since he bought his can. The previous version was a solid clumped dull yellowcake wax with a faint smell. This new formula reeks like it got off a binge. My father said I should return it, it doesn't look right and he doesn't want to stick his hand in it. I told him, that it smells similar to the old wax puck and we should give the green grease a chance. I hope we don't get ill.

Liked the product very much, used it to restore some old wooden statues and furniture

Works great! Use very little it goes a long way. I have a machine that buffs the hardwood floors. Be careful after using this produce you can slide across the floor or on your ass without trying…lol floors looks great!

I've always waxed my hardwood floors. Can't afford Urethane. I can't find this wax in stores anymore so glad I found it on here. I've used it for years and it's the best for hardwood floors because it doesn't have all kinds of chemicals and additives in it that might discolour or damage your floors. You get decent sized cans. You only need a very thin layer on a worn out section of floor. Don't wax over old wax. Only wax if the wax has worn down to the wood or is very faded. Don't put thick layers on it won't absorb. Let it sit for 15 minutes, add another thin layer if you want. Then buff with a had buffer or a machine buffer. I'd get extra cans if you can't find it in stores. Too bad it's so expensive. Unfortunately it comes from the US. Not made in Canada.
