How many ounces does the small bowls hold? thank you.

I am not sure about the ounces. These items are beautiful and very well made and can be used for many things. I use the bowls for large based candles and I use the tray for keys on my entry table near the door.

Are these safe to use as cat food bowls?

That's what we use them for! Excellent size, lead free and dishwasher safe.
