In many respects, this text provides a useful introduction to research methods. As is often the case with texts, there are several errors. However, some of these might make the material confusing to readers who do not have a foundation of knowledge. If anyone can find an erratum, please share!

Book came damaged and wrinkled along edges. It also had some weird black film on it.

One of the most convoluted, ill-written, messy research methods textbooks I've ever seen. Hard to understand, probably unedited or not even re-read by the author before sending to print.And of course as expensive as all these trash manuals are.

The book is fine. It's written at a pretty good pace and the content is clearly applicable to graduate and doctoral research. The Kindle version is absolutely terrible. The book is not searchable. There is no linked table of contents, so when I have assignments that skip chapters I have to scroll through the entire book to find the chapter.There are no page breaks between chapters. One chapter ends, and then there's a headline that isn't noticeably different than the other section headers, a faint number indicating the next chapter, and then the next chapter begins. (See screenshot). It makes finding the chapter you need to read even more difficult.I used Kindle versions of text books all through my master's program so I know that most Kindle textbooks have searchable features, linked TOCs and other helpful tools that are not featured in this version. Even if you don't like paper books, just get the paper version of this one and skip this Kindle mess.
