Great start to Hottest Pepper Growing Hobby
I bought these in the Summer and decided to start them late indoors. First of all, I had a 90%+ germination rate. So, the seeds will grow if you take care to start them off right. The seeds come in envelopes of pepper type. I got the 6 variety/100+ seeds. You, as the reader, are probably trying to decide if you should buy these over any other deal on this site; I bought from Wayland Chiles and I am satisfied. You are reading this review to see some info on why you should buy seeds. So, here is what I did...I did not initially start the seeds when I received them. I researched the best growing methods to ensure germination. I decided to grow them in a Plant Start 72cell Dome Tray like the one from Pro-Hex. I then filled all the cells with composted starter soil, the kind with organic material like kelp, bone meal, etc. When I planted the seeds, now this is important, I placed the seeds on top of the soil and just covered them enough to keep them out of direct air contact. When I watered the tray, I made sure to get the soil wet but not soaked. I then closed the dome and taped it down because I put the whole set up outside because the days were in the upper 80s and the nights never dipped below 75 or so. This was the ideal starting temperatures for starting them. I did not take the cover off for any extended time, just long enough to refill the bottom liner tray with water. It was about ten days before I saw the first seedling, but when I did... almost all of them started to sprout. I think there were like 3 cells that did not take. I planted about two seeds in some of the cells, just in case there was a seed that did not germinate. I ended up taking the stronger plant out of each cell when they grew. I would have over 100 plants if I kept them all. I transplanted the seedlings when they had two sets of true leaves and about 3 inches tall. I transplanted into Jiffy 3 inch peat pots. When I transplanted, I put in more composted potting soil with organic material. This will ensure that the plants start out healthy. I am still growing them indoors, keeping the water and temperature in just the tolerable level for the plants to keep them small over the Winter. I have done the first pruning when the plants did their third and fourth set of true leaves. You may have some apprehension to cutting the tops off your plants, but it is worth it. The leaves are spouting from all Y-Joints and growing new branches. The stalks are increasing in width to accommodate the increased branching. When I bring them outside this next Spring, I know they will take off!Hope you find my review helpful. The takeaways here: Great germination rate; research growing methods, indoor starting for summer early harvest. Will buy from Wayland Chiles again.

Healthy Carolina Reaper and ghost pepper seeds— so many peppers!!
This is the second year I’m buying seeds from Wayland Chiles. Last year’s crop was AMAZING!Seeds are in well labeled envelopes. They are clean and healthy. Got very good germination last year on 4/4 strains in this pack. The plants grew nice and strong and produced LOTS of superhot peppers in the fall. Got reapers, fatali, chocolate bhuts and 7-pot.Importantly, all peppers were as labeled. There’s nothing more frustrating than finding out your Carolina Reapers are actually habaneros, but that’s not the case with Wayland’s seeds. My only mistake was germinating them in late winter/early spring. The plants did not mature and fruit till September. I will start germination earlier this year.Germination was a snap: simply put seeds into wet paper towels in a ziplock baggie. With some patience, the seeds will grow. But it can take a few weeks sometimes. After that, I let seedlings grow in small disposable coffee cups and potting soil under a grow light. Once they were strong enough I transplanted them outside into the summer sun and voila— more superhots than you’ll know what to do with.Let’s hope this year’s crop is as good!

Poor germination in optimal conditions.
I recieved extra seeds, 20 compared to the listed 10 per species. I planted 10 each in soil ammended for chillis and had a 10 percent germination rate with no germination among the Jolokias. The 1 sprout of the Fatalii died before putting up its first pair of leaves, and I have 2 Scorpions and 1 Reaper that are slowly growing. I am aware that all these super hot species are slow to grow, but i would expect far better germination for what I paid. Especially since i have 10 other species of chillies that grew at 70 percent germination from old seeds. These seeds I purchased were planted at proper soil temp in their own plot, in Zone 9. I will plant remaini g seeds and update my review upon the completion of growth efforts. Maybe it was a bad batch. Will have to see.

Beautiful plant, high yield, extremely hot, delicious
Monster of a plant. Started her off indoors under leds, then transplanted her outdoors into a 10 gallon using organic potting soil. I fed her Roots Organics nutrients through the summer. By August I was getting high yields of huge bright red wicked looking peppers! Just a beautiful plant. Got lots of compliments from ppl. These are EXTREMELY hot peppers too, but along with the heat they also have a very good taste. We pickled them in jars with various vegetables. So hot, soooo good! Seeds took a long time to sprout though, so be patient. Up to 3 weeks.

You can get them to germinate but it is damn rare.
As this is my first time growing reapers, I cannot say if I am doing something incorrectly, or if the plant is just that hard to get started, or i just got a bad batch so i will leave it at a 4 star review. I planted 10 of the seeds and out of those 10 i only got 2 to germinate and the 2 that did look sickly. I also successfully germinated 8 out of 10 of the Trinidad scorpions and they look much healthier and are growing much quicker. Like i said, not sure if i am doing something wrong or if the plant is just finicky.

Free seeds!
I ordered apocalypse scorpion seeds and they included free Trinidad scorpion seeds! There were also far more apocalypse scorpion seeds than I ordered! This is now my go-to seed bank for hot peppers!

Not the same as the photo.
These peppers are not what they appear to be in the photos. They are standard long green chilli peppers.

100% success rate on the seeds!
Seeds arrived fast.Planted them as directed and within a few weeks, every single seed started to sprout. They look healthy so far but it is only April.I will transplant into my outdoor back-yard gardens in June and hopefully, they will be the insanely hot pepper plants as advertised.Worth the money as I purchased hot pepper seeds from China for a few bucks years ago and the seeds were not scorpions or reaper peppers rather they ended up being sweet green bell peppers...you get what your pay for!UPDATE: September 21, 2021....peppers are healthy and look great, see pics.
