Bullet proof
Finally a pair of ratchet pruners that are sharp, well buil and work perfectly. I use these hunting both turkeys and deer as well as around the house. I abuse the heck out of these. Great product.

Second place
I bought two different types of ratcheting branch cutters on Amazon. These were one of them. They work, but seem to have more play out of the box than the others. They also seem more reluctant to ratchet down and finish the cut than my others. They also have a slide lock to hold them closed when you’ve finished using them. It is too proud and my hand action when cutting a thick branch pushes the slide lever forward and latches them in the closed position unintentionally at the end of the cut. I find this irritating. The other pair I bought have a similar slide lever, but it’s recessed and also quite stiff. They don’t seem to have the same operational flaw.I will use these if my wife is using the other pair, else I will grab the other ones.

I made a great choice!
There so many choices of different styles out there that is difficult to make a choice. After reading many details pages, I reduced my list to type, materials, helpful description, reviews and price. And I chose these and they are terrific! They are light, wicked sharp and the ratchet type cut is flawless. I have not yet run in to anything in pruning that it will not cut.

Great for weak hands
I’m getting older and losing strength in my hands. These trimmers are easy to use, allowing me to trim back the thick branches from my surprisingly vigorous raspberry and blackberry plants that seem to be bent on world domination ;)

Ehhhh.. situational.
I have big ratchet loppers and they literally take 1/4 the effort to cut things then normal loppers. So when i saw these I figured ohh... might make cutting the smaller stuff easier, well not really, the ratchet function requires multiple pumps to fully snip and although it does make it a little easier, speed is more important for smaller things. If you're a landscaper you most likely have plenty of grip strength and would be better served by normal sharp pruning clippers, having to squeeze 2 or 3 times every cut is very time consuming, sure it may take less strength per squeeze then normal clippers, but as I said I don't think the extra time is worth the tradeoff, since you should just switch to loppers if the size is bigger then an inch (these are are rated for 3/4 but I've cut nearly 1.5 inches with em cause I was too lazy to walk back to my truck and grab a better tool). If you're super old and have weak hands then these are for you, but if you're used to manual labor and need speed for smaller things like cutting down gardens or whatever, these will just slow you down over normal clippers.
