1.5-Inch Split Bunkie Board for Mattress/Bed, Fully Assembled, Improved Comfort and Support, Twin, Grey

Not much to say here. Solid piece. Easy install. Firmed up our toddlers bed to be more comfy over the slats. Also not super thick so the bed is still low enough to be safe if he tumbles out.

The full bed for my son’s room has a metal bed frame that can get uncomfortable after laying on the full foam mattress for a while. He doesn’t notice it, but when lay in his bed to read at night it can get really uncomfortable as I start to feel the metal bars under the foam. So, I wanted to get something that would support the mattress & make it so that I could not feel the metal bars.I did not want a box spring because those are just too thick and heavy and would make the bed way too tall. So I did a Google search and found out about bunkie boards.I looked at some other boards before this… but most of them looked like they were either plywood strapped together with nylon or they were the kinds of boarding you’d need for a traditional framed bed that didn’t already have bars. This bunkie board looked a bit more sturdy and solid from the pictures& I like that it is covered with cloth.The shipping was quick for this item which I appreciate, especially considering the cost. The price point is actually a bit higher than I expected to pay, but the product does seem to be quality and sturdy so far.The full size is two twin size boards& you just sit them side by side on the base of the bed. I will say that it would be nice if this came with some sort of apparatus to link the boards together. While they stay together well so far under the weight of the mattress, I could see how someone trying to put the mattress on top of a bed frame like mine (no raised edges) could easily have a very frustrating experience, especially if they were working by themselves. I did this by myself but the bed I was installing them on is in a corner and has a tent over the top, these things together acted as a kind of stabilizer for the boards so they didn’t slide off the frame while I was putting the mattress back on. Otherwise I could not have installed these by myself.Another thing that may be needed by someone with a frame like mine is some kind of nonslip material. Maybe one of those mats that goes under carpet or something… to prevent the boards from slipping on top of the frame. Especially if the bed is not in a corner like mine.The current set up will suffice for now, but I will be getting some additional materials to keep the boards in place atop the frame.Overall, this is a great product. I do hope that my feedback serves to give the makers some ideas for future iterations.

The full sized bunkie boards fit perfectly on our full sized, metal bed frame. While providing support for our mattress, the bunkie board also makes the bed not squeaky. No squeak whatsoever. The gray color is nice and the boards are covered with a nice material. You remove from the shipping box and lay them on the bed frame. That’s the entire assembly. I believe the boards are necessary to make a good, solid bed. I know the bunkie boards will last for decades. Shipping was fast and the price was reasonable. Great item.

It's ok wasn't what I was looking for. I was hoping it was more supportive. But it works with the bed that my daughter got. It's ok but may not perfect for all cases. :/

it is a wood frame covered with a thin fabric. It is shallow inside so will not provide equally distributed weight of the mattress, therefore is not providing the necessary support when a people lay down on top
