It is works great
Took less than 2 minutes to install on the end of my hand held shower between the end of the hose and the shower head. I did not need tools and it did not leak. Water flow does not appear reduced and I use a Shower head with 10 settings especially the pulsating portion. Does not leak at fittings and can easily regulate the flow with one hand by sliding the lever side to side. Flow goes from full on to full off (without leaks at any location including fittings) but you must use the gaskets at fittings if called for. Strongly recommend that at the END OF YOUR SHOWER, you shut the water off at the wall mounted shower control instead of relying on any device like this to shut off the flow as it is never a good idea to leave a any hand held shower hose charged as the water line pressure can be up to 60 PSI). As the valve with hold the 60 psi water pressure but the hose may not if left charged all the time. By the way this device is a little shorter than the one bought at the big box store and fits very well in the normal size hand held shower wall holder and slides in and out very easily. This is a great buy and well designed.

Once and done
My water bill told me that my usage was above average for a dwelling of our size. California currently requires 2.5 gal/min or less on all showers and sinks. Next few years that standard may be reduced to 1.5 gal/min. This valve can control flow as needed. So instead of installing expensive new fixture with required flow restrictions, this can meet standards as they change. No need to retrofit later. So does it work for the intended purpose? Yes, indeed is the short and definitive answer. It does not come with any instructions but it's pretty much straight forward. The package came with the valves body and a rubber washer. Not sure where the washer is designed to go, so I chose to put it on the output side. Using plenty of white teflon pipe tape and channel pliers, I first mounted the shower head on the valve, as there is little room between the shower head and valve to access once it's on the inlet pipe. Then using generous amount of tape, I screwed it on the inlet or supply side pipe. Stuck a 5 gallon bucket to measure flow in the shower and "tuned" the flow to 2 gal/min. less than the standard but may get me back to average or less than average water user. Works wonderfully, no drips or leaks, fully adjustable. Once I have it tuned, I scored the place where the lever needs to be set. Now I can reduce it further as the need arises and not have to do anymore plumbing.

One of my better decisions.
In drought-plagued California, water is a commodity not to be wasted. Once upon a time I lived in an apartment with a shut-off 'button' that never worked well. This seemed a better choice.GREAT quality valve.I never do my own plumbing, but this was easy for the handyman and probably any other DIYer. Had these installed in two showers along with new low-flow shower heads.I can't say enough good things about it. It works smoothly. And it WORKS--effectively and completely shutting the flow of water off at the valve without leaks, then back on without a problem. If you are interested in water conservation, I highly recommend this product.

So happy I bought this!
This little valve really works great. My favorite part is that I can slow water flow down as well as turn it off altogether without having to mess with the main faucet. My shower head has a fast and heavy flow and it's great to finally be able to slow it down. As a handicapped person this gadget really helps me in the shower, I can turn it off and on with so much ease now. It was super fast and easy to install, it's easy to use, and I'm happy with the quality. Will buy this again if it ever wears out.

my doubts were unjustified
I procrastinated a year before settling for one of these flow control valves. I kept reading about how the valve would not fit this or that shower model, etc. I could have tried and returned it if it didn't work, but I don't like the inconvenience. So, I took a chance with this one. Easy to install, easy to use, and satisfied with its performance. My shower is a Kohler A112.181 cUPC 2.5 gpm (9.5L/min) Max. I think it's pretty standard.

Works well with one minor annoyance
Well made, easy to cut the water off and turn it back on.One problem: as hot water flows through it the flow is gradually reduced to perhaps 25% of what it initially was. For example, if I turn the hot water valve on by itself to a typical flow through the shower head, over a minute or so the flow continually drops to not much more than a trickle. I have to open the hot water valve much wider than normal to get a normal flow of hot water. It's definitely the shut-off valve, as I removed it and did not see a reduction in flow without it when hot water was running through the shower head.No idea what may be causing it. Perhaps something in the shut-off valve is swelling due to the heat and restricting the flow.

It works as intended.
Take into consideration it's been about 18 months since I bought it and quality often chances (goes downhill) at warp speed these days. Having said that >>>>>>>Easy Peasy to install and It's very easy to use.. I love being able to shut the water off instead of just letting it run while I soap up and you can control how strong or weak the flow is.

High Quality Shutoff.
Aside from some delivery issues with USPS (getting worse), this is a great shutoff! I have fairly high water pressure, and this shutoff is still nice and easy to operate. It does allow you to go from full flow to zero flow and anything in between. Control knob and body are metal, while the valve component appears to be nylon. One thing I'm always worried about with cutoffs is too much flow restriction when open, this unit does a pretty good job of allowing close to maximum flow....better than any others I've tried.UPDATE**Maybe I got lucky ...twice, but I haven't had the issues others are reporting. After using this for a few months, I still love it. It's so much smoother than the others I've tried, and the 'leak' is really tiny. The minimal effect on water pressure, and no effect on water temp make the tiny tiny leak a mute point.

Such a Simple Solution
So I had a drippy shower mixer. No big deal, I thought. Then the plumber arrived. "Obsolete unit. No parts available. Shower tiles discontinued,. Blah, blah blah. Loads of dosh to sort out, literally hundreds of pounds". WRONG! I bought this shower valve and fitted it myself, easy-peasy. A few quid and it's all over. I love Amazon.
