What a hardware store!
I was taking apart a spring loaded control knob and lost the e-clip. I'm still really curious where it ended up. However, there is no good substitute so I checked Amazon. They had this assortment that included the size I needed along with probably a lifetime supply of replacement e-clips. With prime shipping I had the replacement part the next day. The whole package cost less than the gas I would have burned trying to find a replacement.
