I'm in the US, so most of my outlets are 120V. That said, I use a few 240V circuits around my house to run certain high-energy appliances off of. My half-meter 3D printers, crypto mining rigs, etc. A lot of my stuff can be switched to run off of either 120V or 240V input voltage, but not everything can. This unit gives me the flexibility of using my 240V circuits to power 120V appliances that cannot be switched to a higher input voltage. For example, I have a portable air conditioner that only accepts 120VAC. The compressor draws too many amps when it first kicks on and it would occasionally trip the breaker (typically when someone is using another appliance in the same room). Most of the 120V outlets in the room its in are on the same circuit, so moving it around wouldn't have helped. I had an unused 240V NEMA 6-20P outlet in the perfect location for the AC, though, so I picked this little transformer up. It accepts a standard C13 plug, which is much better than units that have the cable hard wired in since this makes it easy to plug it into different styles of wall outlets just by using a different cable. It comes with a standard NEMA 5-15P to C13 cable, but my 240V outlets use a NEMA 6-20P outlet. I already had a NEMA 6-20P to C13 cable laying around, so I flipped the input voltage to 230v, plugged it into the wall, hooked the air conditioner up to one of the 110V outputs on the front, turned the transformer on, and everything fired right up. Has been working rock solid with no fuss whatsoever. Very little heat generation, no noise. Just an awesome little unit.

Dose the job well.

I needed more 220V power at work, but I only had one outlet. This unit to the rescue! Dual 220/240 AND dual 110/120V outlets, with a power input selector switch on the back, has done what I need! I was able to plug into my 220V line, set the inverter to 220V input, and power both ends of my 220V cabinet, instead of having one side doing all the work and creating a nasty whistling noise any time I open the door! Definitely useful for anything, and it basically works anywhere (excepting maybe some parts of Japan which still run on a flat 100V) so if you need power split or converted, this is your device!

We bought this so we can use our 220v coffee machine in the US. We connected everything and it worked great for 3 months. That was the only thing connected to it all this time. Suddenly, after 3 months, one morning it just stopped working. I tried to connect other thing to it and also tried to connect the coffee machine to another converter just to make sure that it is not the one that broke down, so I realized it was the this converter that broke down. Ended up buying a new coffee machine, much less good then what I had but it is instead of another converter that costs at least 60$ and might break down again. Is there any warranty for this??

Bought to use the 120V red light therapy warmer. So far so good, no issue at all.

Moved from Germany to the US and needed a step up/down converted for my European espresso machine to work. Bought a 500W at first but it didn’t support that much wattage. The paperwork that came with the 500W suggested 1500W for coffee machines so I bought this one. My espresso machine worked great for a couple months. Then as the water was almost finished heating up the machine would shut off and not even power on for half a day. Thought maybe my espresso machine was breaking down but first wanted to try and see if a 2000W converter would work. It did. So it must be that these converters break down over time. Understandable over a few years but not a couple months since we bought it. Hopefully this 2000W will last longer.

DID NOT WORK FOR ME , This 1500 watt is a nicely made unit, I works well , but decided to exchange it to a higher rating of 3000 watts .
