Best little thing, though it gets dirty easily
Love this little box, so much. I use it for my tank all the time. Though it attracts algae like crazy and can stain easily if you're not careful. But it is an amazing little breeder box and does its job so well. It goes inside the tank and the walls are made of mesh, so the water just flows like it would in the tank. It is a little difficult to assemble, you have to be very specific about how you put it together and snapping the pieces in place can be tricky but once its together its very sturdy. Overall if you don't mind the algae buildup or keeping up with cleaning off the algae then this product is really good for its price. Would recommend.

Love this. It’s sturdy and serves its purpose. I also love the little fake branches that come with it. I used it for new baby fish that I was adding to my tank, and I didn’t want to stress them out because they were teeny tiny. Highly recommend.

Change the suction cup
Not the best on the suctioning part. But good everywhere else.

Perfect for what I need!
It's almost perfect! I wish the walls were clearer, and the whole thing a little bigger but overall, its really good! The building process is a little rough, but once it's put together, it works very well. You just have to make sure you hear and audible snap to make sure it's all the way together. The suction cup works very well too! It's a perfect size for my guppy fry. It's really good value for what you spend on it. Overall, i say it's a super good breeder/fry net. Especially for how well priced it is. Definitely recommend.

Save your money and buy a small tank
I have tried using this several time over the past 9 months. first time the pins that hold the basket fell off overnight. Lost all of my fry. Second time I zip tied the basket to the suction cup. the suction cup came loose over night. Again, lost all of my fry. Third time I cleaned the glass real good but the suction cup came loose again. Again, lost all the fry. Basket it self is ok. The mount is horrible. Just use a separate small tank and a gravel cleaner to do water changes. Since I started doing that, I have has a lot of success.

Do not buy!
This thing will not keep your adult fish out nor stay attached to the glass! I bought this for my corydoras eggs, to save them from being eaten! Placed the eggs attached to a rock in the breeder box 3 days later came home from work to find 3 of my fish inside the box! After getting them out and looking for the eggs I could only find 2 tiny fry so possibly the other eggs hatched too and were eaten or the eggs themselves were eaten. I figured the box must have gone down below the top of the water letting the older fish in so I rigged it with my magnetic glass cleaner to keep it up higher. Then two days after that I find the suction cup has come unattached from the glass and the whole box is leaning forward down in the water and can not find my two remaining fry! I'm hoping they somehow managed to swim to a hiding spot in my tank and will make it till they are big enough to not be eaten but, more then likely they have already become someone's snack..... if you really want your fry to make it, and if you're looking at this you probably do, then absolutely do not buy this box it does not work like it's supposed to. R.I.P baby corydoras

Perfect for my needs
I needed some sort of neat divider to keep my betta fish separated, but still allow them to share the tank. This is the perfect solution. The fish can share the water source, so no risk of ammonia buildup in a smaller container. They also can't get at each other, something that any betta fish keeper knows is a huge no-no. The "fish pen" also comes with some nice plastic plants that attach to the inside of the pen. So my fishie even has a place to rest and hide. He seems quite comfortable. The suction cup included may not look like much, but it's extremely powerful. I installed the pen during a water change, while there wasn't enough water in the tank to help offset the weight of the pen. The suction cup held just fine even so. Assembly is simple. I was a bit worried about how well it would go together after reading another review, and while it does take a bit of physical effort, once it's together it's not going to be coming apart, ever. Just be careful you don't accidentally rip the netting while snapping it together. I accidentally poked a small hole in the edge of mine. Not big enough to be a problem for me, since I'm using it with adult fish, but big enough that a small fry could potentially wriggle through it. The only downside to this, for me anyway, is the mesh does disrupt your view of the fish inside. Opening the lid of the tank itself and looking at them from the surface is an easy enough fix for that, however, and it's definitely worth it to keep from having to rehome my fish or have to maintain two aquariums. Should the need ever arise, I will definitely be getting this fishie pen again.

The Best New Breeder Box
This one is just about perfect! I had the first version- the frame that you have to stretch a cheap net bag over. It worked okay, but looked awful and collected aquarium gunk. You also had to hook it over the side- hard to do with an acrylic aquarium. This version comes with pre-netted pieces, so when you snap it together everything is snug and tight, no net gapping anywhere. It comes with one suction cup on a floating bar, and this I assumed I would have to replace- but no, it sticks like crazy. No issues whatsoever. This little box kept 30 platy babies safe for weeks- they all survived, no one escaped. It is also excellent as a "time-out" for a naughty fish, or one who is not feeling well. The only issue I had was assembling it- it would seem to snap together, then fall apart in my hands. I was convinced that it wasn't going to work, but if you take the time to sit down with it and really work each snapping point, you will be glad you did. Once you figure it out, it is very sturdy and will not come apart on you. I like the soft blue color as well- it was not such an eyesore in the tank. Such an improvement! Cleans up nicely too, with just a soft toothbrush and water.

No bottom separator for egg layers, but did the job for my guppies. Mesh is very fine, but if you feed your fry with baby brine shrimp, the get caught in the mesh and impossible to clean afterwards. Well, cleaned it with bleach...No problems assembling it, after careful studied the construction of the box. Suction cup was goo enough and it did not fail once

A bit hard to assemble . Poor quality. Only 1 small suction cup on the back so is.not strong enough to hold it in place . Keeps sliding down .. ... Not recommended .

Very affordable and well built. Keeps new baby fish safe. Only issue is the suction cups wears out too quickly sinking the whole cage

The product works great mesh, easy to assemble EXECPT for the suction cup that is very very weak My fry ended up being eaten as the suction cup give in overnight. 😔

After reading the reviews I went to the dollar store and bought a couple of suction cups to attach to it to strengthen the hold. They are not needed. It holds fine. The thing floats. It doesn't sink. It took me all of five minutes to assemble. I wish it came in a larger size but have zero complaints. Very good value for what the cost it.
