Good Quality
I recently tried out the Self Adhesive Felt Fabric in black (17.7" x 78.7") for a few DIY projects, and it turned out to be a pretty handy material. The soft velvet texture gives off a nice, upscale vibe, making it perfect for lining drawers, jewelry boxes, or even adding a touch of elegance to craft projects. The adhesive backing is strong enough to stay put but doesn't leave a sticky residue if you need to reposition it.One thing to note is that while the material is soft and flexible, it can be a bit tricky to apply smoothly over large surfaces without getting air bubbles. Taking your time during application helps, and using a flat edge to smooth it out as you go can make a big difference. Also, the black color looks sleek but tends to show dust and lint more easily, so it might require occasional cleaning to maintain its appearance.Overall, this felt fabric is a versatile option for various projects, offering both aesthetic appeal and functional protection. Just be prepared for a bit of patience during application to get the best results.

Super sticky
I gave only four stars because while this product is of good quality it is SUPER sticky. If you let it stick to itself while unrolling you will have a heck of a time getting it unstuck. If you do get it unstuck, you will have wrinkles in it. It’s impossible to work with when the backing is off. It sticks to itself and everything else. Makes a small project turn into a big one. It does cut easy with a scissor or better a blade. It’s soft and looks nice if you can manage it without it sticking to itself. If you have a super small project you might be ok. I was laying it in drawer bottoms. After the first piece of waste from its stickiness I had my husband help me. He held it while I unrolled it and that worked. So if you have a bigger project, have an extra set of hands.

Not real velvet.
I decided to eliminate my big honking jewelry armoire and line the shallow top drawers of my dresser for my jewelry. Bought some jewelry trays of various sizes and this fabric. Was a little disappointed at first. I was envisioning soft, plushy fabric reminiscent of my 1972 Homecoming dress, but this was definitely not that luxurious. It’s not felt, either. I’d describe it as flocking. The fabric is very thin and not plushy or cushioning at all. When applied, it is soft to the touch, but firm with no give, if that makes sense. So, I used it anyway and I am glad I did. The trays I bought might not have fit if the liner was any thicker, and after I got the drawers lined I decided I really liked it that way. The fabric was relatively easy to work with and probably would have cut easily if I had had a utility knife that was sharp. Just used a scissors. It was pretty forgiving, somewhat repositionable, and adhered well. Didn’t fray or shatter like actual velvet does. So, all ended well, and I may order some more for another project.

Best bang for your buck
Replaced the drawer liner in 6 drawers with this, very happy with it. It’s definitely thin but I was pretty surprised with the durability. I actually like that it is thin, I cut it about 1/16 over sized and was able to use a putty knife to push the edges under the sides of the drawer following the drawer bottom panel. When trying to remove the plastic wrap that came around the roll to hold it together I used an awl and it slipped. I immediately thought I probably just put a hole in it since it went through the pull off backing and it’s so thin, but surprisingly it didn’t! Maybe I got lucky. The adhesive wasn’t overly sticky which I like because I had to reposition the first one I did and I was able to do so without damaging or wrinkling the material. This was significantly cheaper and way easier than buying velour fabric and dealing with finding a decent adhesive to attach it to wood. I’d buy it again for sure.
