Solenoid Water Inlet Valve Straight Complete Inc Coil for Triton Electric Showers

Easy to fit = ‘new’ shower

Did not notice until fitting, electric connectors on left hand side I needed them on the right. On original valve you just rotate the solenoid. This solenoid cannot be rotated because of four nylon steps. Obvious valve designed for solenoid to be removed and replaced with a 90, 180 or 270 degree rotation. Only snag I was not sure how to remove it, so I carefully removed the nylon steps and solenoid can be rotated like the original. Not complaining. valve works fine and fraction of the cost of OEM valve.

The part arrived quickly enough, but in a plastic bag with no protection. A connector on the item was bent, probably in transit.The connections on the part were also on the opposite side to where they should be, but luckily the wiring of the shower just about reached.Once fitted the part worked well.

Replacement unit fitted and worked well when installed as brought the shower back into working condition. The terminals were on the wrong side but that's not an issue as it fits multiple shower units. Just need to pop the solenoid off and put back 180 degrees round to suit application as designed to do this. Just use a flat bladed screwdriver at base of coil to plastic body and twist to lift up. Good value replacement part.

Fairly easy task to replace the original Triton valve. Needed to rotate the solenoid so that the terminals are on the same side as my old one. It unclipped easily from the unit, with the help of a flat screwdriver, and clipped back on fine.

The valve was easy to fit, works perfectly, and is far better value than the manufacturers spare.

Item works well as a replacement solenoid valve for my shower. However the electrical terminals are 180 degrees opposite to the original valve it was supposed to replace. Meant rewiring the supply to the terminals as the existing wiring would not stretch. The water inlet 'pipe/tube' was 4mm longer as well which meant cutting back such. Once installed all working perfectly. At a third of the price of a bona fide spare it is worth it if you don't mind a bit of DIY to make it fit.

Replaced solenoid valve and assembly in 20 year old Triton T80i as was starting to drip constantly. At this price it was worth a try. Fitted well and as indicated by others it is easy to switch the solenoid position so that the terminals are on the required side ( just ease the solenoid off with a flat bladed screwdriver and push back on as required - 20 seconds). Now no more drips and the new valve will probably outlast the rest of the shower.
