Very nice Palette!
Mine came with a slight dent on the top, but no stars deducted since it looks to have happened during shipping since the box was a bit beat up.This is the perfect palette for my plein air painting setup. Admittedly I go overboard on how many colors and qualities I want to have with me though! (i.e. granulating, transparent vs opaque, etc).I almost deducted a star though because the palette really needs a fitted cap, since paint tends to go all over the place. However, part of that is my choice of watercolor paints - the ones with Honey absorb water from the air and never really dry out. (Like M. Graham). My Daniel Smith watercolor paints shrank as they dried and seem pretty stable, but most of my paint is M. Graham which painted the bottom of my watercolor swatch card which was sitting on top of the palette. The inclusion of the swatch card is a nice touch. The individual wells are very small, but you can just fit the opening of a standard tube of paint inside to fill them. Both my water brush and my size 8 travel black velvet round fit fine for pulling paint. The wells are small, but fairly deep so a good dab of paint fits inside each one. The mixing wells are also relatively deep and worked quite nicely for mixing my paints. All in all I'm quite pleased with my purchase. The porcelain seems good quality and the mixing wells cleaned without any stains as I'd expect. A little overpriced, but this is the only portable porcelain option that I'm aware of at least.

Simply Perfect!!
I purchased 2 of these little palette sets. I am a studio painter, not a plein aire painter. I have tube watercolor paint sets and fill these palettes from the tubes. I save paint with these because I can let the paint dry in these palettes instead of putting dabs on mixing trays that get washed when finished with a painting. These are much easier to carry around than boxes of tubes. I plan on buying a couple more for metalic paints and a pastel palette. This is a delightful palette kit. It comes in a convenient tin (about the size of a tin of paste shoe polish), and has two round ceramic palettes. One palette has 37 wells for your favorite paints, and the second palette round contains 7 mixing wells. You can use this wonderful little palette in your studio or in the field. Great for gift giving for the artist in your life, or for a Christmas stocking stuffer. In every way, it's simply perfect!!

Love this
Exactly as advertised and can’t wait to fill the wells and get painting. Very small and will be great to take with me anywhere. Love that it has protected tin and dividers to separate palettes. Color chart is a game changer bonus…all I need is to add my own paint to complete it

Guilty Pleasure
It took quite a while before I justified buying this palette. It's quite expensive for what it is. In the end, I just splurged and bought it and haven't looked back. The craftsmanship is excellent. Fitting 37 wells of paint into a 3 inch round porcelain palette takes a little planning. I arranged them according to the color wheel and left several empty for later. The mixing plate holds enough paint in the wells for sketching on the go. The metal tin holds everything together nicely. The only drawback to carrying these with me has been the weight. I definitely notice the difference from my plastic travel sets, but that's to be expected from porcelain. While writing this, I noticed the grin on my face. That's because it's just a pleasure to have. I think I'll go outside and paint.

Tiny palette for miniature, ATC/ACEO and sketchbook artists using small round brushes.
This is a beautiful and absolutely tiny palette for watercolors that should only be considered functional for artists who paint very small. It's also an eye catching design that looks great with your art photos. Ideal for miniature art, artist trading cards and even art in small sketchbooks where you only use size #00 to size #4 round brushes. When I paint ATC/ACEO cards I almost always use a size 0 and a size 4 brush, and even the 4 round princeton neptune is borderline too big to get paint out of the tiny 1/2" wells without getting the other colors messy.Complaints with quality/design of the product: 1) It is shipped in a thin cardstock box that offers zero protection from damage, so you may receive a dented container tin. 2) Once filled with paint it's hard to not get everything messy inside the tin due to the way the pieces stack with felt in between to prevent ceramic shattering. That being said, if you work tiny and have a small amount of desk space the palette can work out very nicely, especially if you don't need to pack it back up for travel. 3) While the ceramic is a nice quality (especially the mixing areas that don't bead up as much as plastic/coated metal ones do) unfortunately the back sides (bottoms) are very rough/scratched/bubbles/dented which detracts from it being an otherwise high quality looking product you would expect for this price.

Tiny, but works for me!
I just love this little pallet. A watercolor artist that I take online classes from uses this pallet. It's really nice. I find that I don't waste a lot of paint too.

Compact and Extremely Useful!
Great palette for travel. It is a bit challenging to get the optimal amount of paint packed into the small wells. You don’t want to pack the wells completely because when you reactivate the paint, the water will likely flow into adjoining wells and the colors will mix. The wells are big enough to accommodate a size 4 round brush.Overall, it’s a great little palette. I would make several copies of the round swatch chart that comes with it. Before you paint on the swatch chart, make sure you locate the exact well and match it to the chart. It can be confusing - especially if adjoining colors are very similar.I will end up purchasing 2 more palettes. I have the Sennelier box which has around 90 colors. I can play around with the shades without having to use half pans - which take up more space in a tin palette.I am very happy with this product!
