Expensive but worth the money so far.
I have only owned these boots for a couple of months. These boots are comfortable right out of the box. Leather seems more substantial than other boots not made in the USA. The soles are absolute beasts and the stitching around the entire boot seems like they will last for a very long time. Waterproof is key for me.Expensive but I don't regret spending the extra money to have a boot built in the USA and the quality seems to be worth the money.

Very nice but need breaking in
Very well made and good fitting boots. Overall very comfortable but require some breaking in and getting used to. The tongue is soft and designed to fold on either side, don’t over tighten at 1st or folds will rub on ankle

Floppy tongue
These are extremely uncomfortable in the upper ankle area in front. The tongue has too much material and bunches up, creating pressure points. I was finally able to get it situated to be tolerable, but it wasn't comfortable. The next day, I couldn't even wear them because I was so sore and couldn't walk without pain. They seem super well made, and I'm sure, very durable. But, I was disappointed in the tongue design, especially for how expensive they are.

Too Expensive to Take a Chance on Tongue
My old Red Wings finally fell apart so I started looking for a 6-inch, waterproof boot with safety toe that is made in the USA. There aren't many of them around but, despite several reviewer criticisms of the tongue design, I decided to try these Thorogoods. They felt true to size, but, as other reviewers have reported, the tongue bunches up when the boots are laced up, resulting in one or two pressure points on the ankles. I wore the boots around the office for two days to try and get the tongue to "lie down" but it didn't. I talked to someone at Thorogood who suggested there might be a manufacturing defect and that I should swap them for a new pair but that seemed like a hassle. I was prepared to keep working with the Thorogoods I had but happened to pass a Red Wing store and decided to try on their equivalent. the equivalent red Wing is more expensive BUT the tongue lay down and folded up nicely, and didn't create any pressure points. I wanted to like the Thorogoods but for the price, I didn't want to take a chance on them never being comfortable so they are going back. One other thing about the Thorogoods is that the speed lace D fasteners are too small. I could have lived with that but not the tongue. I think Thorogood needs to revisit the design.
