Dritz Covered Hooks and Eyes, 2 Sets, Black

I love restoring vintage clothes but it can be hard to find notions with the right feeling for bygone eras (when clothes were actually were made from quality materials). I recently found a floor length 1940's damask coat with a mink collar and cuffs (replacing with very nice fake fur) and assumed it would take months combing through vintage stores to find the right fasters to make the collar stand up in a mandarin style. The hooks will be exposed, so they needed to enhance the style, rather than being cheap and unsightly. Found these almost immediately on Amazon. They are not only heavy duty, but are nicely finished and will look great.

First and foremost..not having to drive all over "creation" in pursuit of a small specialty item! The days of fine fabric stores have been replaced by mass produced inferior items. Needed this special item for a closure for a fur collar (reclaimed black beaver coat 60 years old)..worked perfectly!

I bought a large house sweater with no buttons, I wear it outside to take the dog out & I realized it needed to have buttons so these work great! I only wanted 3 but I put all 4 (2packages) on & love them, sturdy, easy to sew on & clasp, they came fast as promised & they look great!

Purchased these hooks because I couldn't find them in my local fabric store to replace the buttons on a fur coat. The are great for the purpose. Although they didn't arrive within the specified time frame, it didn't matter. I have until next winter put them on the coat!!

Great hook and eye closures, just the right size for what I needed. I had a weatherproof jacket with a hood that just didn't like to stay on my head. Even if it wasn't windy out, this hood would always fall off my head and it really annoyed me. So I thought that buying something like this to be able to close the hood closer to my neck than the jacket originally allowed might work, and I was right.

They took a bit longer than expected to arrive but were worth the wait. I used these to put some clasps on a robe I was making. They worked perfected. Easy to sew on, keep a good fasten and are sturdy.

A bit Larger than I needed but it worked and they were very eye appealing. I'd like to see a comparison picture or measurement in inches since I am not sewing savvy.

Just bought a little faux fur caplet w/large snaps that were difficult to unsnap. I always thought that those sturdy thread-wrapped hooks & eyes looked more elegant and classic, and I was right! Yours worked beautifully over the snaps!

My husband sewed them on the collar of his 18th century wool cape. They work perfectly!
