If you already bought "Volume I", return it. Hans Wehr was never intended to be a multi-volume reference.The original paperback publication of the Hans Wehr is compact, with thin pages, and a single volume. This version is much larger, with normal pages, which on its own is not a problem; I was looking for a more substantial copy of the same dictionary.The problem is that nowhere in the description does it clarify that "Volume 1" (of a book that I've never seen in more than one volume) consists of pages 1-382, and "Volume 2" consists of 383-1301. In addition to splitting the volume within the first third instead of in half, it also splits the volumes in the middle of a letter. If they'd bothered, they could have easily split it near page 650, since there are two different sections that begin and end within ten pages of it.Initially, I thought this was the result of a printing error, and a publisher trying to make the best of it. After some thought, I'm convinced that this is a ploy to convince people to pay $15 (Volume I) for a $60 book, and then realize after the fact that they have to shell out another $30-$40 (Volume II) to get the rest of it, which this is. Both entries should specify what the product actually is, and that it's a completely imbalanced two-volume set of what has always been a single volume reference.I only gave it two stars because it is actually the entire dictionary, in decent condition, even if it is the least convenient version (and most expensive) that I've ever owned.

Trying to learn Arabic without having Hans Wehr at your side and knowing how to use it would be a lost cause.
