I just now installed this for some LED strips.. not sure if I exceeded the capacity of this or not.. I do not have it connected to a dimmer, however. It's not "instant on" but it does have a soft start-up that is quick enough. In fact, it gives a very elegant effect when you activate your LEDs with this. Since I literally just now installed it, I do not know what the longevity of the unit is. If anything I hope it outlasts the last drivers I bought. In regard to the covers on each end, i didn't have a problem removing it. I just used a flat head screwdriver to carefully pry them, up by inserting the end and turning the screwdriver side to side. the covers are a good way to secure and shield the wiring.

This power supply meets my needs for led strip lights for a closet. The dimmable capability is a plus, but if the dimmer is set below around 50%, the leds do not start until the dimmer is raised to a higher level. Also, I had trouble removing one of the orange plastic terminal covers. It had appears that a drop of glue got dripped on one side and the cap was inserted while the glue was wet, making it a real pain to remove, but one it was removed, it snapped back into place properly, so no harm done.

I had an old 30W driver running some LED lamps but I wanted to add more lighting but it would exceed the capacity. I have the driver connected to an Eaton dimming smart switch. After reading the reviews I decided to buy this driver. When it arrived It was well packaged and came with a small "instruction manual". I wouldn't necessarily would call it an instruction manual because its mostly warnings and what the driver features are. If you need instructions on how to correctly wire this please for yours and everyone else safety, hire a professional. Pretty straight forward High voltage on one side, low voltage on the other (observe correct polarity). The only issue I had which seems consistent in the reviews is removing the covers to access the terminals and mounting holes. I installed mine indoors so I cannot comment on its weather resistance but looking at the design it would need protection if you mounted it outside. When the driver is powered there is a green LED that illuminates. I have 5 - 12V 7W LED MR16 lamps connected to the driver (35W total). The dimming is very smooth and effective through the entire range with no flickering or stepping. The dimmer I'm using is an Eaton RF9540-NAW ASPIRE Single-Pole Multi-Location Master Dimmer Light Switch.

I had a large heavy halogen 24 volt transformer that caused the replacement LED bulbs in my track lights to "sing". This stopped it, and increased the range of the fader. It's small, and easy to install even without any instructions other than the diagram on the top of the unit. If you can't figure it out from that, you probably shouldn't be installing it yourself! The only gripe I have is getting the end covers off. (orange parts) They have no release and you need to use a screwdriver to pry them up to get them off. The nice feature of them is they ratchet down on the wires to hold them in place once the install is complete. Also mount it before you wire it. Otherwise the wires cover the mounting holes.

The orange pieces that cover the connectors are very hard to get off needed more force than I was willing to apply. Customerservice told me they were extremely hard to break, go ahead and pry them off with as much force as necessary. I spent an hour getting to this point. 2 sentences in the instructions are needed.

Updated: Go figure less than a month after writing a review, I’d have to come back and change it. I had a customer try this on a setup that’s full compatible and both drivers they ordered had issues. Sad to say I’ll have to switch brands after spending hours dealing with that. Original: I’ve bought 4 of these now, one being over 4 years in constant use. They dim well, minimal noise and hold up to the test of time. So far, these are my favorite dimmable drivers.

Works great. Easy to use but the end caps are a little difficult to remove. Once they’re back in place they hold the wires fast and the design allows for a lower profile installation although it is slightly larger than others I’ve used. Good product tho. Will purchase again.

Delay after switching on is the biggest problem with power adaptors like this, but this one does not have any delays! I love this one and used about 7 of them throughout the house. Too expensive though, but it works. I had several cheaper ones and I simply hate it when you turn the lights on and nothing comes for a few moments. My usage: I use them as hard wired power adaptors for led strip lights (to work with regular light switches in all rooms). 60W is great for longer led strips. For shorter one I found tiny 15W adapter that has no delay. Anyway, for 60W these are my go-to adapters.

Have had no issues with this transformer. I purchased it to control some LED lighting that I install in one of our bathrooms. It's mounted in the attic and has survived -28 degree Celsius this winter. So far so good.

These LED drivers, are excellent for providing a flexible option for interior lighting, using 12v LED strips. And while they provide stable, dimmable power, they remain cool and quiet, allowing for hidden install to cabinets, walls, ceilings and other compact spaces. The connection points are very simple and strong. With easy to read and use quick inserts.

These LED triac drivers are pretty well made. They work well, are silent, and can deliver a good amount of power. My only complaint is the rather low power factor of only 0.6 which leads to a lot of wasted energy when using these.
