Yes. Using it with Linux right now. It's not officially supported by TP-Link to run under Linux, but it loads the RTL8811AU driver in the kernel and works fine.

Anybody else notice that this thingy gets blazing hot within a very short time? I mean super hot. Really burning hot.

I did. My fingers are burned.. Returning this item and getting a new one to try again. If the new one too gets burning hot then need to file a law suit for physical injury.

Does the Windows driver for this allow you to disable 2.4 Ghz?

Hi! This is a dual-band Wi-Fi adapter, so in most cases, Windows will give you the option to disable the adapter entirely, as opposed to individual bands.
