TAMIYA87030 Masking Tape 6mm & 87031 10mm Value Set

I'd heard rumors for years that Tamiya masking tape is all that & a bag of potato chips but didn't make any changes in my purchasing habits. Instead I'd get whatever was available at the local hardware store; A few times this, unfortunately, left behind sticky residue or even pulled up paint. This certainly didn't make me very happy. When I happened to see it available here on Amazon I thought, I'm going to give this Tamiya masking tape a try & see if it is really any better than what I can get over at the hardware store.My goodness, I didn't know what I was missing! This masking tape is PERFECT for modelers. It forms a nice solid seam, as long as you get it down into the etched details it will NOT allow paint to seep under it & I have yet to have any issues with it leaving behind any sort of sticky residue or damaging the paint job on my models.I absolutely recommend that all builders that take their hobby seriously to actually get masking tape designed for their hobby & that's exactly what this stuff is!

I used these recently on my P-51 mustang build. It works great and is easy to use. No paint bleeding and is easy to cut and trim as necessary for rounded areas.

It's sticky and makes clean lines without removing any paint when removed.

Picked up the set as I was getting into airbrushing. Don’t have much to compare it to but for me it’s been great so far. The two dispensers is what sold me. They are ok but usually I’m laying strips down with tweezers sometimes so I use the dispenser to cut larger pieces that get cut smaller with scissors or a razor. I’d purchase them again when I run out for the convenience of the dispenser.

The tape is great for painting, but it lacks a bit of adhesion, sometimes is slips but overall great quality

Been using different sizes for a while and it works great. The only problems I have with it, is my own failings. Remember to let your paint fully cure and really push down the edges with something (toothpicks work for my needs).

Tamiya masking tape is almost essential for plastic model building. The tape adheres well and masks paint exactly as you'd expect it to. The width is scaled perfectly for plastic models - no need to carefully cut larger rolls of tape down to size. And the dispenser makes it all very easy to work with.

Used to do a 3 colour camouflage airbrush job on my Warhammer Tau Devilfish. Easy to stick to cutting board, slice into shapes with a Stanley knife, then peel and stick to my tank without damaging the under layers.Did first layer, then stuck tape on, then a second layer, then more tape, then final layer.From this I can confirm that the tape sticks well enough to not allow paint to seep through, can seal even when applied to uneven surfaces (such as partially over the top of existing layers of tape), absorbs airbrush paint so it doesn't run, and peels off very well and without damage.
