A must with any diet
I liked that it was a daily workbook with lots of essential information to lose weight and keep it off. Each day has several pages to write in so I start my day with the workbook so I stay motivated with my diet. You choose the diet, the book is for mind set rather than a specific diet. The first two weeks are getting ready to diet so helpful for anyone starting. I had already started a program and it worked well starting from day one anyway. Found skills for eating and weight loss I'll never forget
With the Workbook, there's no need to buy the regular book. The Workbook has all of the information and exercises as the regular book. The Beck Diet Solution teaches amazing skills I use not only for weight loss, but for life in general. For example, the workbook teaches you not only to distinguish between cravings and true hunger, but to realize that hunger is not an emergency that should send you racing to the refrigerator. You and I can tolerate hunger and eat when it is appropriate and nutritious to do so. This book is not a diet plan (you pick your own diet plans), but a book that addresses the common thinking problems associated with overeating. Although it seems obvious that you should do what a thin person does in order to be thin, most of us overweight folks do not really know what thin people do. Dr. Beck has actually researched what they do and how they talk to themselves, and then teaches us to do the same. So far, I have had better, more consistent weight-loss results than anyone in my weight loss group, and I know it's because of this workbook. I even loan out the regular book to fellow dieters to help them.

Great Supplement to Book
The Beck Diet Solution Workbook is a good supplement to the Thinking Thin Book. I'm not very good at writing everything down every single night but this book is training me to be 'better' at it, although I do skip days. The author gives you answers to handle sabotaging thoughts- which is my worst problem when wanting to fall off your diet. I'm a lo-carber and this book has given me good ideas on how to WRITE THE NIGHT BEFORE what I'm going to eat that day. So far; in the past 3 weeks I'm down almost 6 pounds and I don't feel like I'm at the brink of stopping. I highly recommend this book to people who feel they have an addicition to food, talk themselves on why it's OK to eat things not allotted in their daily meals; and getting their personal priorities straight on why they actually want to be thinner.

I would get the green book instead by this same author: The Beck Diet for Life
This is GREAT information (bought along with the Beck Diet Solution book), until I found the Beck Diet for Life book. For me, I need the Beck Diet for Life book. It is more complete and has some tools that have made it so much easier to be successful. I am not to the part where I actually start the diet yet, but I am already successful in losing some weight, but more importantly on track learning the tools better with this book than I was with the pink books. My recommendation would be to get the green book and save your money. I've already passed the return window, but I'll donate these books and hope they help someone who needed less support than I did.

Finally!
Finally something that works for this obsessed food addict! I have read every diet/compulsive eating/obsessive eating/overeating/binge eating, etc book on the market & I have tried every diet out there. Nothing works. Some things work initially but then my old demons come back & ruin all my work. I have undergone hypnosis & had counseling & taken prescriptions but nothing ever worked long term. Well this book really teaches you how to stop those self-sabotaging thoughts, ways, actions. It really does teach you to think like a thin person does. I never understood someone that could actually throw food away or not eat dessert if it was in front of them. It is initially a good amount of work but far less than most binge eating books,etc. But you really have to do all the steps to break free. You won't need to do them forever & this is only a 6 week program. By the end of the 6 weeks you realize which tools you really need to use forever. But isn't being thin & healthy worth it? I think so. The book is very clear about eating disorders. If you have one this book isn't for you. And everything I ever read said you can't lose weight or stop eating until you peel back all the layers of you messed up life or childhood & I have to say it's not true this book gives you an alternative! For the first time in I would say 10 years I see the light at the end of the tunnel & I can actually say no to overeating. This book basically helps any diet work great.

In Kindle format, you have to make a lot of compromise, so if you want to read it as a book, it will be ok, but there is so much page to skip, chapter after chapter. Prefer the classic paper format, this is what this workbook is intended for.

For my money, this is the best of the Beck Diet Books. It is easy to follow, very clear and quick to fill out each day. I liked that I could choose my own diet, which was the CSIRO total wellbeing diet by Manny Noakes. It was a successful combination. Beck Diet workbook is highly recommended and it works!! Changing eating and other behaviours is the key. The Beck Diet's success lies in its common sense. It makes you think and reflect on unhelpful patterns and its positive outlook is a boost when things are difficult. If you want more information to help you, then the Beck Diet Solution is a good companion. The Complete Beck diet is less successful, I think, because it is too fiddly, too much added on to the original scheme but the Beck Diet Workbook is great. Not only did I lose weight but have kept it off without any problem.

It is a pioneer book in its segment, a place where psychology meets physiology. Beware it may keep you restless unless you end up being in beck center Philadelphia USA.
