I was truly surprised that the taste is great! YES low acid. Only thing I accidently bought ground. Prefer to grind my own, but the taste was still good. It does not hold fresh taste after sitting for a while though. Some coffees do. So only brew what you will drink right then.

I recently discovered I could drink dark roast coffee after years of being unable due to acid reflux. This is a good robust flavored coffee.

Volcanic Espresso coffee, like others in the Volcanic brand, is a premium product and is priced accordingly. This is not for the coffee drinker expecting quality like this at Maxwell House prices. Those complaining about its price should return to their Folgers. Smooth and low in acidity, unusual for dark roast ground coffee, I have now gone from two cups per day of my everyday premium coffee to six cups of Volcanic Espresso, my new everyday coffee. Look forward to experimenting with other dark roast ground coffees within the Volcanic brand. Nice that Amazon delivered it in one day and as fresh as it left the packer.

Fresh low acid much like Cona.

Ordered Volcanica dark roast Sumatra on recommendations from several websites including Amazon but was disappointed. It is among the most expensive but lacks bold flavor of typical coffees from Sumatra Mandheling. Not buying again.

This is really good coffee. it doesn't taste like the one I get at a local speciality store but it is really good. Smooth and dark. Will buy again.

I ordered this coffee because I had never tried it before and I am so glad that I did. The coffee arrived faster than I expected and it was packaged well. I opened up the bag and smelled the coffee and it smelled wonderful. I made a pot and poured it into my cup and I tasted it. Very bold coffee. I noticed that from the start which was great because I love a strong flavored coffee. The subtle flavor of chocolate was the thing I noticed the most. Wow! Very good coffee and at a great value considering the high quality of this particular coffee and it really woke me up and had me alert! I highly recommend this coffee and I will buy again very soon.
