Hardware is Better than the Software
Bought this to replace a previously purchased Polaris Remote system. The board still worked, but the remote itself was dead so we decided to upgrade the system.I took pictures of the existing board, turned off power to the system, and then removed it. THIS WAS A MISTAKE. Turn off the power, and with a helper, unscrew the existing board, disconnect plugs one at a time from the original unit and plug them into the corresponding plug on the new board. On our system, there were two red sockets, and one red plug. It doesn't matter which you use. There are a few three pin connectors that don't have a one-to-one match as far as placement goes. Just look for three pin sockets. The software seems biased to iPhones. That's ok. Just download it, enter there required information (including the serial number of the board, which is on the box), connect to your wifi and you SHOULD be done. If you mess up the wifi connection, you will need to reset the system, by taking the faceplate off of the antenna unit and moving the switch from WiFi to Wired and back again. The local pool company tech that I asked to validate the job said that he thought the Wifi worked best on 2.4GHz systems and didn't like Mesh networks. We will see, as soon as my wife (who has an iPhone and is in charge of the pool) installs the software and gives it a go.

Works perfectly ... when it works
While extremely expensive, this is a very useful contraption. The major fault is that it must connected to some server in the cloud to perform. You may futz with it for 5 minutes or more and try multiple reboots on the application to make that happen. If I had it to do over again? Likely wouldn't.

If You Want to Control Your Pool Remotely-- Don't waste your money on any of Zodiacs Products!!
Horrible App- this is absolutely the worst product you could ask for. The whole reason I bought this upgrade was so that I could control my aqualink from my phone. The physical product works fine, the app barely works. The app hasn't been upgraded in over a year; it is not optimized for an iPhone 5; and it is not even an iPad app even thought hey advertise it as such. The app goes through zodiacs under-powered servers and is consequently OFFLINE 90% of the time. If you finally get ahold of zodiac's non-existent tech support. They will tell you it is your router's problem. I set up a hotspot directly next to the Polaris antennae. .... It's not my router. If you don't believe me, look up "Zodiac pools" in Apples App Store and read the reviews of all of the other miserable users like myself.Do not buy this upgrade!!!!

can't update WiFi connection; poor technical support
We had the aqualink controller system for over a decade. It worked fine at the wall panel to turn spa on, pool on, lights, etc. when we re-plastered and replaced the pump and filter, the pool company asked us if we wanted to "update" our system to iaqualink. OK, we thought, everything is going to remote Wi Fi enabled.so they installed the system. in 3 years, we've probably used the smartphone app to turn the spa on or some other control 6 times. 4 times when we've wanted to, there's a bad connection or the temperature reading was not believable. When there was a power failure, the system has to reboot by itself; you can't force it. when you change your Wi Fi password, there is no way to change the password through the app nor through the on-line web address. technical support is non-existent--I'm currently on hold; initially the wait time was 165 min. and now 16 min. later the wait time is now 182 min. I had to rely on the good nature of the installer from 3 years ago to help troubleshoot the system. I wish we had saved the money and just committed to using the wall controls all the time.

Great product, some initial setup headaches, and appears to be refurb or open box
Now that it is up and running, extremely happy with this product. A thousand times more useful than the Jandy/Zodiac PDA (which had poor firmware, flaky connections, confusing menus, often unresponsive buttons). By contrast, this is a breeze to work with, program timing schedules, even program 1-touch macros. When we tried to install it, it refused to connect to our DLink DAP-1320 range extender. It's an incredibly simple networking device, not much you can configure, and had plenty of signal strength. The iaqua would connect to the network (yellow solid indicator) but not through to the internet (green indicator) (at least those are the meanings conveyed by our pool contractor from his discussion with Jandy/Zodiac customer support). We were changing the wifi router anyway, and once we set up the new one (ASUS AC66U), connected immediately and worked like a charm.Reason this gets 4 starts instead of 5 is my belief that this was an open box item sold as new. My concern began when I arrived home to see the parcel on my front step with no Amazon shipping box - it was shipped as-is in the retail packaging. More disturbingly, one of the box flaps was actually open a bit. Upon inspection, the large clear plastic seal/sticker over the seam had clearly been cut (smooth edge, almost 3 inches long, not something that could have ripped or popped in transit) . The context appeared clean/new, but none of the bags were sealed or taped so can't verify. All documentation was missing.
