It seems to work, but you have to make sure you cover every area. If you miss a spot—like in that picture—it doesn't mean it isn't working. It just means you didn't apply it there, such as in the crease of your arm.

Lions mane jellyfish are all over the place this summer. I purchased Safe Sea lotion after a particularly sting-filled swim last week. I wouldn’t say it provides 100% protection, the pain of a JF zap is milder and goes away quicker, and I’m more confident/less freaked out swimming once I’ve applied it.

I would give 0 stars if I could. DOES NOT WORK FOR JELLY FISHES!! We bought this due to an outbreak of jellyfishes at the shore and everyone still got stung even after following directions. Don’t waste your money!

This product worked great! No stings or any rashes! There was 6 of us using it!

Swam in area with jellyfish. Got out of the water & felt a slight bit of an itchy area on leg, but it literally went away in about 5 minutes! This stuff puts a barrier on your skin & it really seems to work!!! Was able to enjoy swimming without being afraid of getting stung 🪼 It may also depend on the area you are in & the type of jellyfish, (we were in Maryland in August). Worked well for us!!!

Helped a little i think

Giving this four stars because I have no reason not to. I’ve bought this twice now and used it at beaches on the east coast of Florida. I can’t really say for certain if it’s effective or not but I can say that I’ve never been stung while wearing it (could be because it works or because there were no jellyfish around). I was wearing it when one of my friends got stung standing pretty close to me and I was totally fine. Regardless of whether it works or not, it gives me peace of mind and that’s worth it to me. Lost a star because it’s so hard to put on. It’s very thick and doesn’t spread easily so it takes forever to get decent coverage

Worked great in South East Asia and the box jelly fish. Our guide used my bottle and purposely dove into a jelly fish area and didn't get stung. He was impressed. Maybe luck or the product, but he was hapoy with it. I didn't get stung either and some others did who didn't use the sea safe. I would still be aware of where you are swimming, but I do believe this product gave me added protection.

Product doesn't work for Australian stingers, husband used it in a swim at Busselton, he got the worst stings he's ever had and had to come out of the water after about 200 metres.

This stuff is amazing! Purchased it for a Mediterranean holiday…2 years ago the resort was over run by jellyfish and we were stung several times. So cue this purchase! It’s remained resolutely in the hotel room unopened and there’s not a single jelly fish in the resort!!! Must be super strong!!!! 🤣
