Lip liner is great for setting color at the edges of lipstick and getting the shape just right. Some people use a different, darker color than their lip color, but I dislike the comic strip outline look that gives. So I matched this closely to the color I like to use the most, and I’m pleased with the results. If you’re careful about your anatomy, you can draw slightly outside the edge in the center of the bottom lip, and on the top of the bow of your upper lip, giving you the fullness so in fashion now. Without the botox injections!! This is a very good liner for the price.

LOVE this old school lipliner so much I shouldn’t leave a review, as there are a limited quantity on the market, and I selfishly want them all for myself, but mainly, I think we all leave reviews to try to convince manufacturers of the quality they already HAD in products they keep choosing to discontinue. I simply wish Maybelline would bring back this type/color of lip liner!!!I bought the raisin color and have been using it for over 10 years. It is a pencil you sharpen and it hardly EVER breaks off! This particular shade is from the burgundy family, nicely warmed and muted with a beautiful spice color and it contains the slightest flecks of barely-there sparkle. I hate to even say sparkle, because it’s so slight, but just enough to make it interesting and give it character. It’s for everyday wear to the office, using a lighter application with lip gloss over the top or can be worn at night as both liner and lipstick, and becomes richer with heavier application. I wear plain ol Chapstick over the top. It stays on great, I reapply once after lunch and I’m good for the rest of the day, even eating a snack or two in between. So, it’s not one of those 12 hour sticks, it’s just simple, beautiful and non-fussy. I’m fair-skinned and light-haired and it’s the best shade to bring out my other features without looking goth. It’s so classy and timeless. I just love it!!Now on to my rant...I think it’s crazy how consumerism is resulting in the disappearance of so many products nowadays, to be replaced by a “better”, upgraded version...blah, blah, blah. But, this has been one of those items that was always out of stock because people were always buying it! There were many times over the years that I’d have to go back when the store’s truck came with a new shipment. And I didn’t mind!! Manufacturers KNOW we are buying these items, so I assume they look at their potential sales goals in one of their quarterly meetings and think, how can we get more money out of the consumer? Oh, yes, reformulate it...at a higher price, with less quality ingredients that the consumer goes through faster, and waa-laa...more money in our pockets!!I have seen this with SO many products in the last few years!! One of these days, they’ll have all of us foolish consumers completely “reformulated” in our buying habits and just accepting whatever “new” product comes along to replace all the old. But actually, the greed by manufacturers to meet their sales goals with these tactics, will reveal that there’s so much more work in that and more importantly, they’ll find that consumers are not as loyal as they once were. We will simply move on to the next new thing and to other brands.If big companies want more money, why not just raise the prices of products they know have sold so well for years, rather than removing them from shelves? They come up with these “replacement products”, but let’s be honest, there’s no such thing as that today and we all know that game. Nothing is like the original, and honestly, the price point can’t stay the same if it is a good, quality product. We, as consumers, know we’re getting a good deal on certain products we’ve used for years, but what the big guys don’t give us credit for, is that we’d also be willing to pay more for THAT SAME PRODUCT vs having it be replaced or not having it available at all!!! Just raise the damn prices and let consumers show their loyalty by paying higher prices for said quality. It’s called value! Something we are losing more and more of today!! Thanks for reading...I know I CAN’T be the only one out here frustrated over the higher priced, lower quality, shit products that are replacing all the tried-and-true ones from our not-so-recent past!

So happy with these inexpensive liners! I ordered this in pink and in rose after being too lazy to drive to MAC for "boldly bare"- the pinky-nude I normally wear, not expecting these to be great but since they were prom with free same day, the would at least hold me over until I was motivated enough to drag myself into a mall... They ended up being great! Not quite the same as my MAC pencil which is a little more nude, whereas these have a stronger pink tint- rose and pink are actually very similar to each other, or at least I can't tell the difference!This is a fairly hard pencil and deposits a soft sheer matte color. I prefer hard lip pencils over soft- most stay put much longer and won't bleed outside the lip line- and these pencils are no exception! These needed minimal sharpening as well so they will last a good amount of time.I usually only wear liner and fill my whole lip in then finish with various plain or tinted balm for moisture. I like how these colors look blended with a finger to soften- very natural pinky, like post make out or bitten lips- so it's almost just an enhanced version of your actual lip color! Or I will build up the color and use a lipstick or something tinted for a little more color popEither way, it's been a couple weeks and I'm still avoiding a trip to the mall's MAC, and while I do prefer my old color still, these are a great and economical option to have on hand!*photo wearing Rose, lips lined and fully filled in with Rose pencil, blended, then a quick sweep of a clear bunny gloss bar:)

I love this color! I am getting older and like to use a liner so that the lipstick does not bleed into my fine lip lines. This color matches perfectly with my lipstick but often breaks while applying. This causes the product to not last as long. I feel that if it went on more smoothly it might not break as easily.

So far so good. Will most likely order this again.

I’m torn on this review because I’ve been using this lip pencil for over 20 years but it’s just because of the color. The wine color is a perfect shade of berry for me and I always receive so many compliments on it. However, I hate how dry the pencil is. I have to use multiple other nice pencils, glosses over it to keep it from looking cakey. I wish I could find a similar color by another brand but so far no luck.

I purchased this from drug store so I already knew the product. Quality, and performs as designed. Color is true and stays until you remove it.

The Maybelline ColorSensational Lip Liner's in the shade rose and pink are absolutely perfect for the "my lips, but better" look. I cannot rave about that aspect enough, but it should be noted that they are not long-lasting if you are seeking longevity in a lip liner. Again, those two colors are perfection!!

Item arrived today all OK and like the colour, the only thing is that this item is advertised as a pack of two and I only received one.

Color is perfect. Smooth to apply.

Applies smoothly and easily and is a great nude base colour for many lipsticks. Sometimes I just wear it on its own with a balm on top and I'm good to go.

Color is perfect for a natural looking lip. Very happy with this purchase.

Garbage!! Complete waste of moneyLipliner is old and dried out. Definitely not the one I’ve been using from years ago.
