Didn't think I'd like how bulky the case was but was determined to try it because it was the only 3rd party case I could find with a removable Smart Cover. For $16 vs. Apple's $39 Smart Cover (which doesn't protect the back or sides!) it was a no-brainer.Pros- Protects all sides and front with raised bumper edges, which also provides for a pretty firm grip on the iPad- Back is hard plastic and frosted which looks really nice and doesn't show fingerprints- Detachable front cover does still work to automatically wake/sleep tablet when opened and closed- Cutout on the back is perfect for putting a pen loop through to hold the Apple Pencil (case doesn't come with the loop, I bought it separately)- Allows charging for 1st Gen Apple PencilCons- Cutout for microphone on the back doesn't line up with iPad (see picture). Cutout is below where it should be for the microphone. I haven't tried making video calls, so I don't know how that will affect microphone usage. All other ports seem easily accessible- Magnets for Smart Cover are pretty weak; cover does not stay folded up unless iPad is resting against it- TPU material covering the power button is pretty firm and it's difficult to tell if you're pressing the button hard enough to get it to work (ex for a screen shot)- MAY be incompatible with some thicker glass screen protectors - I noticed the case started to peel up the edge of mine when I first applied it until I really pushed on that corner to get the glass to lay underneath the bumper- Smart Cover slides on and off the case via a plastic groove and is attached to the groove via a thin pleather strip and more plastic. Difficult to tell how well this will hold up over timeOverall - I'll be keeping the case despite its flaws. It seems to protect my new Mini really well and will hold up to the heavy usage I'll be putting it through as a student.

I'm an everyday Jane kind of gal when it comes to self-expression. Space Grey, Aluminum (silver metal) or Black when it comes to my electronics. When I found the perfect phone case for my iPhone 6S (http://a.co/d/4QAaQhl) I took a chance and purchased the Rose Gold option. These not being my first case purchases for my devices, I was very specific. To complement the phone case which allows me to mount it to my dashboard (http://a.co/d/g9gtJcn) without adding a magnet or remove my case, I needed an option that was similar for my iPad. I wanted something slim that also provides protection, and I knew that there are frequent times when I don't want to deal with the cover. Not only does this case look stylish, it fit my iPad perfectly and is thin but very substantial and durable. The removable cover was the best part. This case makes it easy to remove the cover, not the entire case quickly.Moreover, since I didn't want the magnet plate showing through the transparent back casing, I printed out a photo, on regular paper, cut it out and put it inside the back. Versatile and affordable, this case is a must. It arrived today, and it makes the use of my iPad even more appealing. I highly recommend it.

So a new iPad Mini 4 is still a great compact ebook reader, entertainment and communication tool for cars, trains and planes - with access to real work tools when needed, And is just $400 at Apple (only $300 at Walmart '-) now. But only an idiot / rich spoiled kid wants to throw away $300 if they drop something on the floor once, right?So after looking at what $15 bucks gets you in a cover for the ipad mini 4, the Valkit wins in every way. It is about 2 MMs thicker and wider at the corners than the rest- but it actually encases edge of case and will protect your mini 4 from a real drop - and still looks great (see my review of the silppery ROARK cover for one that does none of the above at same price).The design is near perfect - clear back shows the great iPad design while the cover has a pattern that grips well and is thick enough to protect the screen from pressure. Thicker, rounded corner bumpers absorb drops while the raised ridge/small feet around the back edge gives you a soft but good grip so dropping it is highly unlikely in the first place. That also sticks the iPad to, and raises it above, the surface it is sitting on - so it stays cooler when charging and a wet surfacespills shouldn't cause any issues.Really a great design and product at a price that makes sense to protect an iPad that costs 20x as much. I like it. you just slide down to remove the cover and slide back up to normal position. For me, i had to use little bit of force to remove the entire case from ipad. other than that, it’s great!

This thing is going in the trash. I got this for my daughter, because it has a lot of good reviews and I knew she'd like the color. However, after using it for the last week, I've come to the conclusion that it's junk. The cover has the magnetic clasp on it that's designed to wake and sleep the iPad, but due to a pretty sizable gap from the case's lip around the screen area, the lid hovers around an area that constantly sleeps and wakes the iPad. This causing the battery to dye faster.

The case came in yellowish instead of pure transparent feels like it's been used for some time. Microphone cut hole does not match iPad Mini 5, but it will fit a mini 4 as described. Wish they have a new version come out. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative of Otterbox Case for iPad Mini 5, this is the best option at the time.

Great Case for my IPad Mini 5Chose the pink, the colour is perfect. The back is a frosted clear, so not the crystal clear as advertised but probably my better, less chance f scratching it up.Very nice case, very good price!

I love this case! The clear portion is protective, comfortable to hold and doesn’t yellow. The pencil holder is great. I love that the colored portion is removable.

Fits like a glove and protects the device perfectly. I haven’t really had any issues but if I had to Celtic one thing it would be to improve on is the strength of the magnets on the cover to keep the device prompt up.

Delivered quickly. Rigid case, transparent at the back and very durable. The cover is a beautiful gray and of good quality. The advantage is that the front cover is removable, so if you don't need the front cover you can remove it easily. Only remains to be seen if the case will last several years.
