When I was a kid (and dinosaurs still ruled the Earth), these drinking birds were a curiosity. Since then they sort of disappeared, well I haven't seen one for ages anyway. I chanced upon a mention of them recently and just had to own one, I was amazed to find that they are still produced and mine recently arrived safely in the post. It takes a few minutes to get an appropriate water container and fiddle with sliding the glass neck into the best position, then it just goes on working, seemingly forever. I believe that as long as it has a supply of water and a reasonable room temperature, it will just keep drinking (a bit like me really, but I don't require the water :-). I thought that I had a basic idea of how it worked, but found a YouTube video that explained at great length, it is fascinating and actually quite complicated.. have a search for it. Anyway, for the very reasonable price it has been an interesting talking point to everybody who has seen it.

Husband loves it and so do the kids. They named it Mr. Tinkle. I find it annoying but 4-1 in our house give it 5 stars.
