Lived up to my expectations
I just want to start by saying I myself read a lot of reviews before making this purchase. I wanted to get my 4 turning 5year old her first interactive gameing system/tablet. i wanted ot be sure it would be beneficial, meaning educational and easy enough to use for her to have fun with on her own and feel grown up and proud of herself. I looked up the leap pad and various other similar tablets and decided on this one due to having many of the same features as others but being more affordable. I am thrilled with my purchase as it's perfect for all I wanted. It comes with so much to do right off the bat with photos, videos, coloring and creatifity games. my daughter was able to use it and have fun right away and she loves showing me her creations. We got her a couple other games to go with it and they are easy to use as well. I def recommend this purchase. It has been over a month since we got it and she still loves it. I also recommend getting a couple sets of rechargable batteries for it and you'll be a happy customer!

BEWARE!!!
I have nothing really good to say about this product. It is SLOW and really a waste of your money BUY ANOTHER TABLET for your kids. Adding to this my Innotab 2 DID NOT WORK! I attempted to transfer downloaded items from VTech's learning lodge website. I downloaded two videos for my daughter and when I tried to transfer them onto the Innotab 2 a popup said it couldn't be done because my "SD card may be write protected" (I don't have a SD card). I called VTech costumer service which was a huge waste of time and their solution was to email VTechkids. I did and asked for help with this or to refund me for my videos which my Innotab 2 will not let me transfer. They didn't do anything to help my problem. They sent me an email explaining how to transfer items onto my Innotab 2 (which I already know how to do and it didn't work!) and said that downloaded items are non-refundable. TERRIBLE customer service!!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Just okay for my daugher, but my son loves his!
I got one of these for my daughter for Christmas. She's behind in reading and math, so I thought the idea of a "game" system would spur her on to learn a bit more, but that hasn't really happened. It was fun for her for a while, but she's lost interest in it already. She's 7 and really liked playing games on my phone. Hence, the reason I got her this. The app's on the VTech website are pretty good for the prices, but only the ones created by VTech. The character ones by Disney and Nick are way overpriced. I have yet to purchase cartridges for this, but am planning on it soon. But that's not what this review is about. So, my daughter pretty much doesn't play with this anymore. I wish, like some of the other reviewers, I invested instead in a relatively inexpensive "real" tablet of some kind and downloaded a bunch of app's for it. The InnoTab2 is incredibly slow too! It takes about 30 seconds for anything to load. A big pain in the neck, I think. Her favorite things about this InnoTab2 are the camera, art software, and stories. She enjoys the stories and the dictionary feature is really great. Other than that, my daughter doesn't do much with it anymore. Her little friends love it though, because they don't have one! I really think that if your child is 5 years old, or above, they aren't going to enjoy this too much. Really depends on the child, I guess. Now, my son, on the other hand loves this thing. He wanted to play with his sister's all the time, so I bought him the white/blue one from another supplier. He is 4 and very smart and intuitive, so this really holds his attention. He could play with his tablet all day long, if I let him. We've had to take it away from him for a few days on several ocassions because he wets his pants while he's playing with it because he's so enthralled. He lost it for the entire month of March because of this wetting thing! Anyway, I think he enjoys it so much more because he is under 5. I would recommend it to a child under 5, but not over that age. I think an older child will bore of it much sooner, as my daughter did.

A Game or Learning tool, it's both.
Our 2, 3, and 4 yr old grandchildren go to this thing like candy. They love it and play/learn from it all day long. With the children playing it so much we were burning through batteries. We bought the AC adapter but it's not very practical being that the kids like to run off to their favorite spot to play and are not willing to be tethered to an outlet. Finally we bought two sets, 8 rechargeable batteries so that we can recharge one set while using the other. I felt like an idiot spending this much for kids this young but it's been fantastic. They've stood on it and have thrown it and there hasn't been any problem. You can change out the game/learning cartridges depending on their interest and need so I expect it to grow with them for a while. Oh, I almost forgot. The VTech has a built in camera. The kids love seeing a picture of themselves on the screen. Yes I'd buy this again; I would just go with good quality rechargeable batteries from the start.

Blurry camera
I am not sure if something is wrong with the one we got but the resolution for the camera is awful. Its so blurry you cannot even make out the features on faces. I even tried it outside with bright daylight and it is the same. Super blurry. This was a Christmas present for my 3 year old so I ordered it a few months ago and saved it. Now that we opened it it is too late to send it back:( The games seems fun enough and lots to chooses from but I am super disappointed with the picture quality. Did anyone else have this problem?

This is the coolest product for small kids!
I am so impressed witht this product. This is the 2nd one I purchased, after getting my own grandchildren one, I knew my brother had to have one for his 5 year old. My 8 and 4 year old's love it as they can do a ton of things on it. I rushed delivery for my neices inno Tab and paid a fortune in shipping (Uggh!) to get it for a two day drive they were going on. She entertained herself with it the entire trip, and even taught it to herself. No adult supervision needed. It takes incredible pictures and videos. The kids LOVE IT!
