If you just got married or have been together for 33 years, this book helped me refocus some areas I was failing in. Any stage of a relationship has its issues. It takes hard work, desire and love to recognize you have areas to improve. This book in plain terms tells you how to do that. It helps you better understand what your spouse needs. Divorce destroys so much and as I’ve seen with my Mom who has been divorced three times, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. I almost blew my marriage big time. By the Grace of God and a forgiving wife, we are now BROKEN TOGETHER and in November will celebrate 33 years together. Read the book!

Good book for all husbands to read

No matter where you find yourself in the world of relationships, this book offers something for everyone. I wish we would have found it earlier.

Husband and I had not been happy for a few years but neither of us had been strong enough to change things. I was searching for a book to help me figure out what I could do to fix our marriage. Instead I found out so much more. We learned what the real problems had been all along and have rediscover our love for each other. We are working on our marriage with the help of this book.

Jimmy Evans is not only a man after God's heart but very dedicated to God's view of marriage. As well as helping others in their own personal walks in marriage. I strongly and firmly encourage married or unmarried couples, single people for future marriage add this book to audible or purchase for themselves or any family member who may need marriage guidance. Mr. Evans is able to explain everything regarding every issue marriage will encounter and how to explain how Jesus and scripture applies to resolving or encouraging a healthy marriage. I can't say enough good things about this book but I am so appreciative that Mr. Evans obedience to the Holy Spirit to write it will and can actually do what no therapist or human can do. It's really how dedicated you are to letting Jesus heal your marriage or lay the foundation of a marriage to help fight against the odds we all face. Best book ever written after the Holy Bible!!. Along with all Mr. Evans books. Also highly recommend!!!

This book illustrates God's plan for marriage in a clear, concise manner. It was amazing how much I discovered about marriage (my husband and I have been married for 13 years)! I not only learned things about my husband and his needs, but also how to be the wife God called me to be. It was eye opening to realize all the mistakes I had been making as a wife that caused my husband great pain. My husband says the same of himself: his eyes were opened to the mistakes he made that caused me great pain. With God's help, we have reversed course and now have a strong, vibrant, and fulfilling marriage.I would recommend this book to any couple, and especially engaged couples. If you want to have a strong marriage and you are willing to "look in the mirror" and take responsibility for areas that you need to change, a personal relationship with God and this book can do miracles in your marriage. Yes, I said miracles.I would also highly recommend the "One" devotional written by Jimmy Evans. Although written as a 52 week devotional, my husband and I used it as a daily devotional. Our marriage was in trouble at the time and we were desperate for help. We first turned to God and then went through this book together with open hearts and minds that needed healing. As we read the devotional together, we learned to communicate and each sincerely took responsibility for the areas of our marriage where we created pain for our spouse. We changed those behaviors and the end result was and, still is, amazing!

I read it during the summer and I loved it. My marriage is better because started applying the principles of God's Word. I am still learning to submit and honor my husband. It's a work in progress. Before, I would listen and do what family and friends suggested to make my marriage better. I know they meant well. I used manipulation and threats of divorce, they worked temporarily. But nothing really changed. I had no peace and I was not happy. I needed change because what I was doing and saying was not working. Someone needed to start the changes. So, I made up my mind to respect and honor my husband and treat him the way I would treat Jesus. The anger and defensiveness toward my husband went away. I prayed more and reacted less. Now, my husband and I are experiencing mutual respect and love toward one another. My husband has noticed the change in me. Now, he goes out of his way to make sure I have what I need and want. As my husband began to feel honored and respected, he changed, too. God does honor his Word. You can have that dream marriage if you want it, but you have to be willing to do the work and submit yourself to what God says in his Word. Submit and honor your husband as unto the Lord and don't worry about your husband. God shows up! Either your husband will get the program or he will leave.
