Works fine!
Works fine! Fits my old Brent wheel. I was hoping my bleecker inserts would work with this as well, but it’s a different fit. It seems sturdy, fits well and throws well. A little tight so needs a tool to remove it after use, but that’s not a bad thing.

Really great quality bats
I rented a wheel during California's shelter-in-place orders from my local ceramics studio, and when I discovered the wheel I rented only came with one bat, I knew I was in trouble. Thankfully I found these on Amazon -- these allowed me to continue throwing without having to wait for each previous project to get leather hard dry! Great quality too.

You can replace the inserts with 1/4 inch concrete backer board.
I read the reviews and knew everyone was saying the inserts are garbage but the outer round base was great and sturdy. So, I went ahead and bought it because I have been using concrete backer board that I have cut up and drilled holes in and with a quick sanding of the top it is just about perfect. You can see in the last picture showing my homemade bats. The 1st picture is the homemade replacement I made. The 2nd picture shows the crappy material they used to make these inserts. I know that the hardware store (any close too you ) has a better construction concrete backer board and will be great for when you need more inserts. We all haven't the money to buy the really nice bat systems and we don't need to now. It doesn't take any time or special tools. Box cutter to score then bend it back and forth it will come off easy after that, just sand the top smooth. Lasts super long and you can keep your masterpieces on them, they will pop off. Do not use the compressed wood. They warp and do not last because TEMPERED Masonite is not available anymore and the stuff in the hardware stores will absorb water super fast and warp. Hope this helps you in deciding. The concrete backer board is around 10 dollars for a 4x6 sheet.

Easy to use.
Works well. Love that I can remove the piece easily and it saves a lot of space on the shelf. Only issue is the clay gets between the bat and wheel and it’s etched/discolored the wheel; don’t have that issue with plastic bat.

Great starter set.
Fits great on the wheelhead. 3/8" pin holes fit perfectly. Base warps slightly when left coated in clay and soaked in water. Dry flat with some weight and it flattens right out. I just wish there were more bats available

Issues with the inserts
I was excited to fee the sturdiness of the product. Seemed to be made with high quality material. My only complaint so far is that a few of the inserts are cut a little too small and don’t properly fit into the template. This causes an issue with throwing. I was finding it difficult on my pulls to get evenness. It was a bit frustrating.

Great
I like these the square shape and 6 bats are great, I would like to see if we can buy more bats separately! they work well and are tough, don't warp.

Buyer beware
I read a lot of the reviews for this product which swayed me to buy it. But there’s a few others saying that there are issues with this product. I wish I would have listened. The biggest issue is that the square plates that fit in the bat are just the tiniest bit off in a perfect fit and that causes them to move when the wheel is turning. This makes it extremely hard to center, and I’ve even had a plate come off while the wheel is turning! Talk about panic!!!Also, I knew that the plates were not huge, but planned to use the other side of the bat for larger items. However there is a hole in the center making it impossible to do that. Don’t know why it’s there.I would not but this product again.

Good Value
Other than wearing the skin off of your fimger tips of your pinkies, I love them. Sturdy, hard working & bloody handy when “production potting” adding more inserts would have been a food option. That also I could have used.
