ResMed CPAP Chin Strap

Great chin strap and made with good quality material that is comfortable and easily adjustable.

Arrived in packaging with the same name as the supplies I get from my insurance! Always an extra star for that IMHO, and will always earn me as a repeat customer Long strap adjusts to many head sizes, even my near-child-sized head. My doctor never brought this product up to me, so I was just curious to try it, and the pricing was reasonable. I had been getting more ingrown facial hairs and pseudofolliculitis around the area that the full face CPAP mask and straps touches my face, plus I was getting marks, so I had wanted to see if this would help. (Ultimately, what was most important was buying new headgear more frequently than insurance approves because the straps wear out and then I’d crank the straps down too tight to keep the mask on.) I don’t really use this anymore since I don’t always feel like adding an extra step to my night routine but I’m glad I did buy it. It does stay on and it does help with the issue that I did have. My mouth was also opening and leading to major air leaks and ineffective therapy delivery. Now that I’ve been on CPAP for about 18 months, I’ve gotten the learning curve down a bit more and learned how to adjust the equipment better and what’s important for a good seal. I still keep it in my medication bag in case I want to use it. It’s worth a try!

I tried this chin strap for a few nights, but I just couldn’t get comfortable sleeping in it. I don’t think that was the strap's fault. I just couldn't tolerate wearing a chin strap at night. The strap is well made, fit like it was supposed to, and did a good job of keeping my mouth closed while using my CPAP. It works as advertised. It just wasn’t the right solution for me.

I’ve been using a chin strap with lots of webbing that covers the entire top of my head. I was looking for a more streamlined head gear. I bought this chin strap and received it yesterday. It didn’t make it through the night with me. First off I have a good sized melon, it barely went around my head and the Velcro barely caught the other side to secure. This chin strap is not worth the money and is made for very small heads. I’m sending it back.

Very disappointed with this ResMed chin strap. I really like the small width of this which was why I ordered it. However, it slips and slides to much to do what it is designed to do.

Very comfortable and controls mouth leak

This is nothing more than a cheap chin sling. It doesn't stay in place well with cpap headgear. It functions mediocre at best, is cheaply made and relies on brand name recognition for the higher price. There are probably better options available that will work better to help keep your mouth closed while sleeping and I personally will be moving on to trying something different. I would not buy this again.

I've had this one before, very slim (which I like). The velcro lasts and is strong. The only complaint I have is that it's not big enough. I need at least 30". This is a standard 26". Still using it until it wears out.

La sangle glisse continuellement sur les cheveux. Donc la pression sur la mâchoire se relâche sans arrêt. Un modèle spécifiquement conçus pour les masques RESMED serait bien. Pourquoi ne pas créer une sangle qui s'attache au masque ou a une autre sangle? Ou tout simplement une sangle en Y qui évite les glissements.

I use an Airfit P30i Nasal Pillows mask and when I recently replaced my machine with an AirCurve 10 I started using the myAir app at which time I found that I was getting very low mask seal scores. Using this strap improved the mask seal scores significantly; no more red sad faces on the AirCurve display in the mornings. With the single strap design it does tend to shift position and loosen up, on my head at least, but the headgear straps help hold it in place. There can't be more than a dollar's worth of material in this thing, so that's why I feel you're paying for the ResMed name. Now that I've seen the difference that a chin strap can make, I'll try some of the more inexpensive ones in the future to see if there is a difference

Je pensais que Resmed serait une bonne marque. Mais ce truc est vraiment de mauvaise qualité. Ne tient pas en place, glisse vers l’avant ou l’arrière pendant la nuit. Vraiment un mauvais achat.

I’ve been using the ResMed CPAP chin strap for a week now, and it’s made a huge difference. My mask leak rate dropped from around 30 L/min down to about 5, and I can definitely feel the improvement. The machine readings look better, and I’m waking up less groggy in the mornings. The strap is soft and comfortable once adjusted properly, and it stays in place through the night without feeling too tight. It does take a night or two to find the right fit, but after that it becomes second nature. It’s a simple fix that made my CPAP therapy work much more effectively. If you’re seeing high leak numbers or notice a dry mouth in the morning, this chin strap is absolutely worth trying.
