The most helpful coffee vendor imaginable
The first batch of these beans came as something of a disappointment, as they were lack-lustre in both senses of the word. I left a review to that effect on Amazon, and the vendor immediately e-mailed me to offer a replacement which he would roast to my personal preference (i.e., medium dark). These arrived today and are, as far as I am concerned, perfect in all attributes (roast, colour, sheen, aroma, taste). Never before have I experienced such excellent service, and I shall most certainly be ordering more beans from this vendor.

Favourite fresh coffee roasters
Favourite Fresh Coffee RoastersI've tried a few different coffees which I've enjoyed but this one really stands out from the rest.Really impressed with how fresh this coffee was and super delicious. When the beans arrived they had only been roasted four days previously. The coffee was roasted light medium and the guide leaflet on the back of the coffee pouch was very useful for me to pinpoint flavours that I had in my cup. I use a bean to cup machine and steam the milk separately, then add it after tasting the coffee black. It was way better than I thought it would be considering the reasonable price and I love that they have different coffee countries here to buy.I will be coming back again

The selfish in me says 1 but Honesty says 5
Look, I'm going to keep this short and sweet.I don't want to tell you how good these coffee beans are because I'm selfish and don't want you to buy them.So far I've tried India Monsoon, good strong rich Coffee. I've tried Guatemala medium tasty smooth lovely Coffee. And the one I feel you really shouldn't try is Rwanda, I love this one, rich smooth fruity it's so good.I know my descriptive capability's are mediocre and I haven't tried them all, so maybe you get one you don't like but half the fun is dialling the beans into your machine to your taste. Think of these coffees as Pokémon. You Got To Try Them All. @roastshopcoffee when is Mexican in season? :)

Not good at all
I’ve used a hand grinder for years, set to fairly rough, to suit my French press. I’ve ground beans from all the supermarkets, before branching out online and buying in bulk packets. Prior to this purchase, I tried Blue Mountain, which was good without being truly exceptional. The only really disappointing beans I’ve had were some that were roasted to near charcoal colour; but it did say ‘dark’ on the label. These are at the other extreme. Opening the packet, there was no discernible odour, which was odd. Even odder was the disconcerting fact that they were almost impossible to grind. I’m quite strong, but I had to grit my teeth to turn the handle, to the point where I thought the mechanism might break. I handed the grinder to my wife, who failed to advance the handle at all. She peered inside and pronounced the beans ‘raw’. I didn’t agree with her. They were clearly pale brown in colour, and had been lightly roasted, though how recently I couldn’t say. I struggled on, and ground my allowance. Sniffing expectantly, I removed the grinder base and got a very faint, acrid whiff of something musty.I made my coffee and the result was weak, in every respect. I have a kilo of this stuff to get through, before I can start on something else. My wife has offered to roast it for me in a frying pan; but I keep telling her I paid good money for ‘freshly hand roasted’ coffee, so I don’t see why we should have to do the job again.I don’t know what to conclude. Lack of smell, taste, colour, etc, is certainly subjective. It may be that this variety and my palate simply don’t agree. However, the fact that it is such a major struggle to grind these beans, even on a rough setting, makes me think they haven’t been adequately roasted.

Nice coffee for a good price
We recently bought a bean to cup machine as are missing our usual trip for a 'proper coffee' due to lockdown. We started 'safe' with brands we knew and now have been trying various different beans. These are great - nice and smooth, not too bitter and a lovely flavour. I made my Aunty whose a bit of a 'coffee connoisseur' a cup yesterday and she immediately said 'oooh, good coffee!' so I thought it was worthy of a review ☕😂

Nice smooth flavour
My partner likes stronger coffee than I do, but this is a good compromise to meet in the middle. I find it nice and smooth and not too strong, and he also likes the flavour which has a slightly sweet/nutty after taste. It appears to be very fresh, I wasn't sure what the plastic bit on the bag was but realise now it's how they remove the oxygen to help keep it fresh. It smelt gorgeous when I opened it, and while I like to try different coffees this is one I would happily buy again! The brand also appears to be very ethical which is a winner for me...

Something has changed... these are not the same beans as before for Monsoon Malabar
So something has changed, i had these beans in 2020 and they were delicious. These beans seem to be very different, they are light brown in colour and not oily in appearance. They also taste completely different to how they should taste...Thats a massive shame, i wont be ordering these again. I'm annoyed because ive bought two 1kg bags. Lesson learned...

Terrible
This is so disappointing. It’s the worst coffee I have ever tasted and I love Rwandan coffee, having lived there for 5 years. Can’t understand how they can sell this stuff when there is great coffee from this region. Also strange that they write so much about the perfect window after roasting for flavour and then completely neglect to disclose when the beans were actually roasted. Can’t believe I have to throw away an entire kilo of coffee but this is so bad it cannot be disguised. Avoid.
