Great Value & Compact Size -> Happy Purchase
I'm rating this a 4 only because the small sensor size limits its sensitivity compared to larger, much more expensive detectors. It is wonderful value for the price, and its compact size gives functionality while taking up minimum electronics storage space. It worked great with my iPhone 4s, though you must be patient for it to register counts unless you have a radioactive source - my first 10 minute test with normal background got zero counts, and the second got only three. It does matter that you point it at the source. Anyone wanting a basic ability to detect radioactivity at low cost and not needing professional grade capability should consider this device to fill the bill.

It seems to work
It seems to work. I tested it on various objects. The only slightly radioactive items were: carbon dioxide detector and the package the counter arrived in (this makes you wander). It's easy to use with the iPhone. You need to download the app, allow access to microphone and stick the counter into the microphone jack. The manual l consists of very few lines. The app also provides the link to the website, with manuals and detailed videos, however these are all in Chinese.Sometimes the counter "falls asleep" and doesn't measure anything. If I quit the app or/ and remove and place back the counter, it starts working again. There is a some kind of a red flash on the screen when it's working.

Worthless
I have a number of geiger counters, and I thought it might be useful to have a portable mobile unit like this. When I received the unit, I was impressed by its simplicity and apparent build quality. It seems reasonably well made, and doesn't appear to be cheap junk at first glance. But when you plug it in and start using it, it quickly becomes obvious that it simply just doesn't work. With my other geiger counters, I tend to have a background count of about 10-20 CPM, depending on the sensitivity of the particular unit. When I ran this unit, there was almost no registered background radiation - maybe 1-2 CPM. OK, it may be that it's just not that sensitive, fair enough. So I put it right next to my test source, which generates at least 300 CPM for all of my other units, and nothing happened. It showed the same count as background. In other words, this unit does nothing.Well, that's not entirely true. I found that if you touch the metal plate on the end, it registers a click. So it is good for something - it can count the number of times your finger taps the metal plate on the end. Just don't tap too fast or it misses counts. So it's not even very good for that purpose.Save your money and buy a real geiger counter. This thing is a ripoff.

Not sure how accurate it is, but it works for detecting radiation.
I bought it to check used watches for old radium paint, and it works really well for that. So it meets my needs. The thing is, without some kind of benchmark I can't tell who precise or accurate this thing is. If I absolutely needed accurate measurements I'd spring for a real lab quality instrument that has been/can be calibrated against some kind of standard source. But I don't, I just need to be able to detect levels of radiation that are quite low, but still well above normal background, it and works perfectly for that.

Great tool for radioactive iodine (R131) treatment
I bought this to use to measure my own radioactivity after taking a radioactive iodine pill for thyroid cancer treatment. I needed to stay isolated for a certain period of time from people, especially from my toddler. I waited to get official confirmation from the nuclear medicine department that I was good to go, but I liked having a way to track myself. It seemed accurate and my readings charted what I expected, and seemed reliable. It was easy to use. I liked it worked with an app. I was glad to find an inexpensive Geiger counter to use for my isolation for my own piece of mind. It served its purpose well but I hope to never need to use it again!

kool concept but it is not clear to be to be counting
kool concept but it is not clear to be to be counting radiation. my uranium sample claims 800 counts per minute and does give this on other geiger counters, not reliable on FTLAB, may be user error. instruction say to turn off wifi which I did on the phone but no better op may need test in a no wifi area.

I have a radiumwatch that will generate a particle per minute or so
It's not as sensitive as I hoped it would be, I have a radium watch that will generate a particle per minute or so.The software is clunky, but it does work. It's an excellent value though. Mind you this is a gamma particle detector, so if it is clicking, get the hell out of Dodge.

Geiger Counter for smartphone from Israel
could use more information about specs that it detects other than that the three stores its in for the app and the four apps it provides in those stores work nicely. The package seems to be if ordered alone come from israel.

Etonant petit compteur Geiger à bas prix
