Needs time to cure, but works great
I got this to fix some cracks in my fireplace. It's a traditional fire brick type, and it had a fairly large and deep fissure in the back wall. Viscosity is good, it's like putty and doesn't run. I packed a bunch into the vertical crack on the back wall, smoothed it out, and it did not sag or run. I left it to dry for a few days. When I came back to check on it, it was still soft. I had also filled in some 'potholes' where the legs of the iron grate had worn away spots on the floor. Those were somewhat soft too. It was getting cold, so I made some small fires over the next few days, and it dried out the floor patches. The back wall patch bubbled, and the outer layer peeled off. But, the inner part did not, and it stuck. I went back over the rear wall, and since the weather had warmed, it had a week to dry; plus it wasn't as thick this time. End result was rock solid patches. The floor patches are holding up well to the iron grate, and the back patch has not cracked or flaked. The key thing with this cement is drying time. Use it in the off season, do your repairs, and give it a long time to cure. I waited until it was too late and tried to rush things, so my results were less than spectacular.

Expected more!
Not too easy to use but it does the job. Sticks more to the tool than to the concrete.

Excellent product, saved my fireplace and a ton of money
The product works perfectly if you apply it and use it correctly. I had a big gap on one of the sides and it bonded and cured as intended. The main thing is not rushing to use it he fireplace right away. The material was solid to the touch an hour after applying it. It needs low heat for it to start curing and do it won’t bubble or crack on you. I placed a large candle inside and left it there burning all day.The next day I repeated the candle process and by the 3rd day I set my first fire. I would also point out that not overloading your fireplace it’s key . Don’t put more than 2-3 pieces of wood along a fire log as it would be too much and would actually cause cracks on your fireplace walls. I also would like to add that cleaning and prepping the area is very important. Take a brush and lightly remove any debris from wall and scoop them out. Also use a wet sponge to finish removing dust and debris before applying and let it dry for a bit. Best of luck to you all!
