A great collection of indie games.

Disappointing, but worth it for Tanzer & Multidude
I was really looking forward to this one as I love the Evercade and a set of original(ish) games for the console is a great idea. It's let down by the headliner games unfortunately - Coffee Crisis is the Megadrive version, which has sluggish & broken combat mechanics compared to the Switch version (slow attacks, poor hit detection, enemies can interrupt combos at any time), making it a chore to play. Jog Jammers is pointless without a 2 player mode - playing against a bot is dire.Fortunately, Tanzer is worth £14.99 on its own. It's a fantastic, surreal and tough-but-fair gem of a game. You get one life, no continues and it feels genuinely retro & fresh at the same time. Jump combos are really satisfying and although it's a hard game it feels fair. The Retro Souls games (Multidude, Old Towers & Super Painter) are all very good - Multidude is the best of a very similar set of games, it's a bit like a 2D single player version of Death Squared for the NES.Seems like the 6 actual Mega Cat developed games are the weakest of the bunch - Little Medusa and Justice Duel are OK but nothing special. Overall this is a decent cartridge but the bad games do spoil it - I'd actually prefer if Coffee Crisis and Log Jammers had been left out, they're just not fun to play.

10 Great All-New Retro Styled Games!
This cartridge comes with a great selection of 10 retro styled all-new modern games including puzzles, platformers and beat-em-ups. I'm still working my way through them, but right now I'm really enjoying Old Towers and Multidude and Tanzer. Coffee Crisis is also very noteworthy and quite funny. I really hope they do another Mega Cat cartridge soon.

Come for Coffee Crisis, stay for the Retro Souls
The mega cat games are meh. Creepy brawler is ok, rest aren't great. Except for tanzr, solid 10/10 there. The games from Retrosouls (multi Dudes, old towers, super painter) are much better.

Good selection, fits a bit too snug.
Excellent selection of modern retro games, particular highlights being Coffee Crisis and Tanzer. However, and this might just be my copy, but the cartridge is an extremely tight fit, which makes it tough to insert and remove. Overall, would recommend.

Not as good as I was hoping
I got this as a present, I wanted to like it, but I am just really not a fan. There are two stand out games for me in the collection, Super Painter and Tanzer, unfortunately the rest in my opinion are poor versions of the original games they took inspiration from.

Some wonderful titles elevate the whole cart!
First off, it should be obvious to any Evercade fan that each of the collections is a mixed bag. It's understandable, as any distributor would want to include a variety of games so that there's something for everybody. Therefore I will highlight a few of the excellent titles in Megacat Collection 1. The star of the show is Tanzer, a hack 'n slash action platformer originally made for the Sega Genesis. It will certainly challenge you, and the save state function is necessary considering your character has only one life (but with three hits). Multi-dude and Super Painter are platforming titles which are easy to jump right into with quick learning curve. Little Medusa scratches that "Adventures of Lolo" itch from the old days of NES. The last title I want to highlight is Old Towers, which is a spectacular puzzle game, similar to nothing else I've played before. As for the rest, I haven't spent much time with them, some aren't that interesting and some just aren't my style; but I don't have any major complaints with them. The titles I have mentioned specifically make this cart a five-star product, and well worth the price (the physical Genesis port of Tanzer alone goes for $40!) I would posit that no matter what style of retro games you enjoy, there will be a handful on here that you'll love.

Recomendable.

Tanzer is amazing
I’m not a huge fan of all of these games however there are 3 or 4 I really enjoy and one that is worth the price by itself... that game is Tanzer. It’s a fast pace hack & slash game that also feels a bit run & gun. Really interesting and bizarre levels and villains to slash and really cool game play. Very challenging but once you use save states it can be beaten. Old Towers and Coffee Crisis are also very fun games.

Great Collection
If you like puzzle platformers as much as I do, you'll love both these collections.
