Paderno World Cuisine Wood Chinois Pestle, 11Inch

Not 11 inches. The pestle I received was only about 8 1/2 inches. Apparently these Paderno pestles were originally made as 8 inch and are now 11 inch. Unfortunately the shorter pestles are still being shipped. I am returning mine. I am hesitant to reorder since I'm afraid I would just be sent another 8 inch one.Paderno makes good stuff. The pestle seems well made and had it been the correct size I would have given it 5 stars.Edit: I had originally given the Paderno pestle a one star review because the first pestle I received was too short to use. It was only 8 1/2 inches, not 11. Now over a year later I took a chance and reordered the pestle. This time I was sent an 11 inch pestle and I have revised my rating accordingly.

It took over 20 years for me to finally purchase this pestle. I always used a large spoon to push cooked berries, removing the seeds, through the chinois strainer and I have no idea why I waited. What a difference and such nice quality.

Works perfectly with the 17360 Exoglass Bouillon Strainer by Matfer Bourgeat. I use this to press on my chicken bone broth through the strainer.

Great pestle! My old one cracked & I think this one is better!
