Cows to the Rescue (Barnyard Rescue)

Any parent of a three to five year old will love the books Himmelman has produced. Whether you begin with Pigs, Chickens or Cows, the TO THE RESCUE series is a delight. The wish children have to help is not always coupled with the skills and understanding one might wish. These books show hilarious examples of well-meaning animals seeking to help people and creating varying degrees of chaos. There is foreshadowing of the unforgettable COWS TO THE RESCUE in PIGS TO THE RESCUE, both of which had to be read many times in a row in our house, by popular demand. The TO THE RESCUE cry echoes still in our family. Do not miss these books, cleverly illustrated to stretch the observation skills of kids.

Love this book! Our kids (5 and 6 yrs) love reading this book over and over. The 6 yr old can read it by himself and the 5 yr old recognizes some words. They laugh and scream when it's time to say "Cows to the Rescue!!!!!" The cows "help" the farmer through a series of events. And by "help" i mean how a 2 yr old "helps" put away laundry. Hilarious every time we read it!!

Kids love these books my John Himmelman!The only negative?! Reading it over and over and over and over again because my grandson never grows tired of the story!

This is my granddaughter's absolute favorite read aloud book. She will get this and Chickens to the Rescue to have Poppy read both to her--multiple times!! Highly recommend.

My son is 2 years old and LOVES this book. He repeats the "Cows to the Rescue" every time we get to that part. The illustrations are great to the point I laugh out loud where my son doesn't get it. Great series and worth every penny.
