Fa La La (Leslie Patricelli Board Books)

Delightful book, but seriously WARPED
The book came warped (as mentioned in other reviews), and the replacement book Amazon sent was just as warped. I put three huge reference books on the board book to flatten it out, but it remained warped because the binding is defective. I will buy this book somewhere else where I can check out the binding first, especially as I won't need it until next Christmas. Really a shame because it is an adorable and informative book for infants and toddlers.

Love the illustrations, the bold colors!
I only heard of Leslie Patricelli because my nephew’s pedia gave “Blankie” to him when he was yet a baby. Since then, in all his baby and growing-up photos, and wherever he is, “Blankie” is always beside him.The bold colors, the cute illustrations of the baby and the simple words that held my nephew’s attention, made me research on the author and her other works. To more books, ms Leslie patricelli!

"I Love Christmas"
Another great addition to the books by Leslie Patricelli. My son is a huge fan and has all the books in the series. Even though he's three now, these are still some of his favorite books. He actually refers to the little baby in the book as himself. So when I saw the Christmas themed book, I knew I had to buy it.The book follows our little hero on the events leading up to Christmas day. There's picking out a tree and decorating it. Building a gingerbread house, making presents, singing christmas carols, and even standing in line and being patient to see Santa. Of course, all this leads up to wonderful Christmas day.Now is the perfect time to purchase this book and share with your little one. My son wants this book read almost daily now and he's looking forward to doing all the things "he's doing" in the book. He knows he has to be a good boy so Santa will give him lots of gifts for Christmas.

Quickly became our favorite
We have a couple Leslie Patricelli books already, and my son has enjoyed reading them, although neither are among his favorite books. This book, however, is one that he pulls down from his bookshelf every day, and he asks to read it over and over. This will be his first Christmas, and I used the book to talk about going to see our local Santa to take pictures. He is 10 months old, and I'm pretty sure that he recognized Santa at our local toy store because we'd read this book so many times. He sat on Santa's lap, laughed and touched his suit, which was a lot of fun for all of us. Now, when we get to the page where "baby" takes a picture with Santa, or 10 month old get's particularly excited. The book touches upon a lot of experiences that are part of the Christmas tradition for our family (making presents, singing songs, gingerbread houses, decorating a tree, pictures with Santa, Christmas morning with family), and has been a fun way to introduce these ideas to our young child.

Great for teaching kids about Christmas traditions
Very simple and very cute. My two year old loves this book! We read it a couple times a day and will probably keep it out on our bookshelf even after Christmas is over. The book itself touches on the different aspects of Christmas: getting a tree, holiday baking, making and giving presents (an aspect that I love), seeing Santa to take pictures, etc. While this book doesn't cover the meaning of Christmas from a Christian standpoint, I think it is a great addition to a child's library simply for learning about the different traditions that go into Christmas (especially if you already have a book or two that is centered on the nativity).

Fa La La all throughout the year!
My son loves all these board books and this was the perfect addition to his collection. We read it constantly! Arrived in perfect condition and despite all the use (and abuse) it gets, it still looks great!

Kid likes it, mom is okay with it
Teaches many Christmas-y items and events (picking a tree, decorating it, etc). Also focuses a little too much on consumerism in my opinion. (Waiting on line to see Santa, lots of pages about presents.) But whatever, for a young kid, that's probably how they see it anyway. A day where they just receive tons of stuff. Some pages were a little awkward as they were not narrated and there was practically no dialog. So you just had to narrate what was going on: baby poking and pulling Santa's beard, Santa screams ouch and startles child, child cries, etc. Another reason for the lower star rating - on one of the last pages, it is discolored. The background color bled or something. Was going to return it but didn't want to waste return shipping and bother with the hassle so kept it.

Cute little Christmas book for little ones
We love Patricelli's books! The pages and pictures are colorful and simple; perfect for toddlers to follow along and because there are only a few words per page these books are also great for developing pre-reading skills. My 2 year old really enjoyed reading this book with me and got him excited about going to visit Santa, a nice little bonus. I love the pictures at the end of the books to review concepts and identify objects relevant to the story. This book, like her others, is cute, silly and sweet. We are always happy to purchase and read her books.

Good but not my favourite Leslie Patricelli
I'm a big fan of Leslie Patricelli so I bought this online. I'm less keen on this one than other of her books, as it leaves out the religious dimension of Christmas and is noticeably American, so the traditions didn't ring true for us (as a British family). But for those who are n't bothered by those aspects, there's still plenty to enjoy. I love the mischievous jolly baby and we've laughed our heads off at some of her other books.

Cute! Secular Christmas.
Shows all the things one might do at Christmas but does not include any religious references. Great book to get toddlers into Christmas.

Love Leslie Patricelli’s work
Love Leslie Patricelli’s work! These books are fun, easy bedtime reads that my kids love interacting with. Always cruising amazon looking for titles we don’t have yet. Highly recommend. Love that her books are all tough board book style, too.

Get them all!
Love all of these little Leslie Patricelli books! We started with "Toot!" and have bought 5 others since! The board books are great for our 1 y.o. who loves to flip through on his own... and he can copy the words/sounds which is perfect for him. Our 3 y.o. also loves them for the easy to read, funny stories and cute pics! Even Mommy & Daddy get a few chuckles reading them!
