Works temporarily
It takes a few minutes to get comfortable on this, but once my body starts to numb up, I love it. I usually end up falling asleep on mine after a long hard day of activity. My back pain goes away temporarily, but of course comes back. This doesn’t fix the source of my pain, but I certainly helps me cope.

No Customer Service
My rating is solely on my experience with the customer service from Bed of Nails. It is none existent. The company claims it has a 5 year warranty but you can not reach anyone. One of the nails on my pillow came off. I followed all handling protocols and wanted to make use of their warranty. Really too bad.

Ohhhhh Yeahhhh! Took my pain away!
I feel the need to preface this review with, "I'm a chiropractor" and bodywork/prop junkie, yoga enthusiast, etc. Only because I've tried so many things, and recommend few. The few I recommend I do with enthusiasm, and this is now included in that category. Was very excited to try this out and couldn't wait to get it, pulled it out of the box at the first chance I had and really gave it a challenge. Happened to arrive on a hectic go-go-go day when I didn't have time to start it with yoga or any movement to set myself up on the right track. So by 6:30 when I got home and found the mat waiting for me, everything just kinda hurt.I put the mat on the ground - the instructions recommend to begin with it against the back of a couch if you want to start out light but I felt the need to go full force with it. One of the testimonials on a card included in the box has a comment about someone relaxing from the moment they lay down on it - that was not true for me! It took a few minutes to let myself relax and sink in. I could tell right away that I liked it, though! Just couldn't drop my full weight into it for maybe 7 minutes or so, not being used to this many little pins pricking me at once. But once I did, it "scratched the itch." Sometimes literally - I found myself rocking back and forth a little to get the pins to lift and re-place them on me almost as a scratching sensation. I started with the buckwheat pillow at the top of my hamstrings with my legs stretched out, but it was too intense to have my whole body flat so I removed it, bent my legs, and placed the pillow under my neck/base of skull. Felt perfect there.Spent 20 minutes on it and when I got up (carefully, that was almost the hardest part - balancing weight when moving to sit up) the pervasive pain of 20 minutes prior had left. I could feel energy and blood moving around all over my back. I turned over and laid with the front of my thighs on it for a few minutes, also awesome. I got some photos of right after and about 10 minutes later when you could really see the redness of the blood flowing. I'm sure my back looked even more so but the leg pix were all I could grab. Now I actually feel like I did a nice yoga class today! Impressed. Will keep it in the rotation and see what happens with long-term consistent use but I'm definitely inspired to keep up with it. The only thing I wonder is how to wash it. I'm sure it'll get covered with body oil combined with the lotion I use (not right before laying on it, of course). Love the matching carrying case included (wish it had a zipper to protect the mat for storage too) and really like the linen option.

Works really well
I suffer fron Fibromyalgia and when I get a flare-up, I get muscle spasms around the ribcage. The pain is excrutiating and painkillers don't touch it. When I am that desperate I would try anything! So although I couldn't see the benefit of hurting myself even more with nails, I ordered this Bed of Nails. It is surprisingly effective. The nails bite into the muscle and pins it down in a way that it can't move, so it stops the spasms. It doesn't work worn as a belt because the pressure is not enough: I do have to lie on it on the floor or in bed. I have the large version for home and I take this smaller one with me whenever I go away.It really has improved my pain management :)

Good
Have only tried it twice seemed to improve my quality of sleep, I felt it was expensive for what it was, maybe it will work wonders in a few weeks!
