Taste is great
I grew up where my mom would buy spices from the supermarket in small 1 or 2oz plastic containers and they were either store brand or something like $1 store name brands such as "Spice Supreme" or similar and nothing against them, they come in handy in a pinch, especially when the wallet isn't so full. However, McCormick just hits right, it has flavor, a great smell and it takes my cooking to the next level. I honestly never understood the difference between the cheap stuff and the higher priced name brand products, but I can now that I am out in the world on my own, buying my own food and spices, making my own pasta sauce and seeing the difference a name brand can make... it does make a big difference sometimes. However, price of this product have been driven upwards in the past few years and I do not understand why. I used to get a 2.5oz bottle of McCormick Onion/Garlic powder in stores for less than $3 in the past, and now it is roughly $4-5 for the same size bottle and not always filled. Amazon has come through with the larger sizes being fairly cheaper than grocery stores, but as much as I like McCormick, the price justification isn't always there. I've been purchasing McCormick products for myself and my mother for the past few years and she enjoys it, but also believes the price doesn't justify the taste in foods and will buy the store brand or another well known brand that is sometimes cheaper. But, for what it's worth, Amazon has been a life saver when making these purchases because in stores it is hard to find the larger containers and when I do find them, they are way overpriced (the 22oz container at time of purchase on Amazon was $13.02, currently it is $12.95 from the same buyer, but in my local store it is $17!!!). I do try to watch for price drops and other sellers who sell the product at reduced prices, or a similar version. Currently, from another seller it is $7.99 for a 22oz container of McCormick granulated onion powder, and it tastes/works the same for my application (I understand it may not for everybody) and the price is literally half the cost. Outside of the prices being ridiculous for some simple spices, the product itself is fantastic and is one of my favorite to use. However, because of how crazy it is to find in stores and prices being driven up, I rely on amazon a lot more for this product and have not been disappointed since. There are other options for brands, but if you like a specific brand/product, there should be no reason why you are forced away from it. McCormick is a great brand and quality product and I do what I can to find good deals to continue enjoying it!

I like this better than the granules
The one I got had a plastic seal around the lid, but there was NO quality seal over the opening as almost any other spice/seasing will have. Because this is a powder it had leaked out some. Just to be sure it was ok that it didn't have a quality seal, I called Mcormick support. They confirmed that if it has the seal around the cap, it isn't required to have the container sealed. (I got a garlic powder too, and it had both seals). As long as it's safe, I don't care too much. This is much better than the granules, is a good amount, smells fantastic, and will last a long time. Great value for a great spice.

Very very fine powder!
It tastes very good but I've never seen onion powder this finely ground before, literally like powder. The holes in the cap were larger than expected so I swapped for one with smaller holes. Still have to be careful though when dispensing because too much of the fine powder may come out all at once!

One of my favorite seasonings!
McCormick Onion Powder is a versatile kitchen staple that delivers consistent, reliable onion flavor. This finely-ground powder offers the convenience of onion taste without the prep work or tears that come with fresh onions. The quality is exactly what you'd expect from the McCormick brand. The powder provides a concentrated onion taste that's both intense and well-balanced. It's notably less sharp than fresh onions, offering a more mellow, slightly sweet undertone. One of my favorite seasonings!
