Lifesaver feeding syringes
These are really neat. They are way better than any of the options in the big pet stores. They are easy to clean and the tip is both soft on a pets tender gums and firm enough that a cat doesn’t bite through it. Perfect for feeding or medicine. I have a cat that needed to be force fed due to fatty lipidosis AND diabetes. I had to be certain of how much food I got into her to adjust insulin dosage. I had found it impossible to get enough food down another cat, years ago, who also had to be force fed. Had I had this handy syringe, I could have more effective in getting food into him and could have savd his life. I found I could use the prescription diet straight, not watered with this syringe and get food down in a hurry. I just put the right amount of food into a plastic bag/baggie, clip off a corner and pipe it like icing into the syringe. Didn’t have to dilute it to suck it up into the syringe. I was able to get the syring in, push the plunger to eject the food into the cat’s mouth and pull it back out fast enough to avoid getting a head jerk orother evasive action from my cat. This syringe is a lifesaver, literally. I as able to reverse the hepatic lipidosis AND the eliminate the need for insulin. Her liver and pancreas are now both working again.

Hooray for Innovet for its innovation
Cat wasn't thrilled and managed to bite off a sizeable amount of the silicone end of one of the syringes, which I was fortunately able to fish out of his mouth. But I was thankful it had such a soft tip to the syringe, I hate to think what damage he might have done to his teeth or gums if he'd bitten into a hard plastic. His health has improved significantly, and I never would have gotten the nutrition and fluids he needed into him if it weren't for these syringes, although a 15cc size would have been nice, as he was to receive 1oz/day, and going about that 10cc syringe at a time... well, suffice it to say, I had to wrap him up like a feline burrito just to get him to hold still long enough to attempt one syringe-full.

WARNING: Reviews, Photos & Descriptions are NOT for the inferior product Innovet will now send you
Innovet is selling a different product than the feeding syringe they pictured here. I assume most of the reviews are also from the previous SUPERIOR product. The older model had a long wide flexible feeding tube that was very gentle on my cat's mouth. I have used & re-ordered these previous feeding syringes for the past four years. But when I re-ordered my latest batch of feeding syringes 2 weeks ago from this page & this company, the syringes that arrived are NOT as pictured. The 30cc feeding syringes now have a stepped tube (see my photo) which is notably inferior for feeding purposes with soft-mouthed animals like dogs or cats. The last inch of the feeding tube is far too narrow for thick food to pass through and must be cut off. This leaves 3/4 of an inch of the usable wide feeding tube. On the older versions (which are still pictured on this website as I write this review Nov17, 2017) the usable wide flexible feeding tube was twice that length -- about 1 1/2 inches.See my photo of the older version with a silicone feeding tube that was wide, long and flexible. Next to it is the new model you'll receive, which has an unusuably narrow end that must be clipped off for any thick substance. The stubby bit you are left with is not as flexible & gentle for feeding your pet.

Did not work for me
I purchased this to syringe feed my cat. While the opening was wide enough for the food to pass through, I felt that the tube was much too long. You're dealing with a cat that is already squirming around and you have very little control over getting the food into her because the tube is so long. It felt like I was aiming for her mouth from a distance. I had to cut part of the tube off to make it work.

The best vet syringe I have encountered.
I usedvthis for the care of my dog. The syringe works very well. Easy to fill and administer smoothly and with minimal resistance. The soft tip can be cut shorter and will still have a soft edge , so no risk of hurting the inside of the mouth. Good for thick liquids.

Great for larger Parrot handfeeding!
They are great! Only thing is I got for a handfeeding Jenday Conure and they are just too big. Definitely great for cats, dogs, and larger parrots like Macaws!

Excellent, but much too large of opening for cats/kittens/tiny dogs and puppies.
These are excellent feeders. You can shorten the tip by trimming with scissors, if desired. However, the opening was much too large for use on a cat. Do not by these for cats, kittens or small dogs/puppies.

I use it to feed my over 19 years old ...
I use it to feed my over 19 years old cat . I have to stuff food from the top and It did the job well. Only the marking on the feeder comes off after a week (I wash it four times a day).
