This product for cleaning. Heirlooms is amazing. I cleaned the headpiece that was over 50 years old and it came out looking like new. Very impressed.

This is the perfect stuff for bringing old, stained fabric back to life. It did a beautiful job on an antique christening dress that was covered in brown stains. It's easy to use, and gentle enough for fragile things. A++++

I didn’t have a scrap of hope that I could restore my grandmothers hand stitched heirloom quilt. It had been in someone else’s care who lived like a filthy hermit. I was shocked at how well this product worked! It took me 6 rounds of soaking and I used the whole canister but this quilt looks amazing! Heirloom saved!!!!!!

This is an incredibly effective product. I found out about it from a blog about laundering antique textiles, the woman used it to launder priceless napkins from a royal family. The before and after pictures had me excited to try it. I soaked some antique laces for 15 minutes, as the instructions suggest a pre soak before a 6-8 hour soak. The dark yellow lace turned to white in that short time and stains disappeared, to my amazement. The water bubbled as if it were simmering. Cannot recommend this enough! Excited to wash some other antique items I thought were beyond help, and trying as an everyday laundry booster in place of color safe bleach.

Works so well! Cleaned a 34 year old baptismal outfit. Looks like new.

This is the best product I've ever used to restore yellowed whites back to bright white. I've also been able to get colored clothes looking brighter again. That being said, it doesn't go far. It requires three scoops for every gallon of water used. You have to do a pre-soak. Empty water. Do 6-hour soak. Empty water. Then possibly a second 6-hr soak. I was able to get four total uses from one cannister. Ouch! Works well enough that I will order more, though.

WOW!!! This stuff WORKS!!! I followed the instructions when carefully washing a beautiful but yellowed antique blanket I recently purchased from a thrift store. I did a pre-wash and then rinsed it well, then soaked it over night in my bathtub followed by another good rinsing. It was still yellow in some areas after the long soak but then I put it out on my porch to dry. A few hours later, no more yellow! I couldn't believe it! I wish I had taken a picture of the blanket before I even washed it! What a difference! Highly recommended! This stuff works great!

I was asked to redesign a vintage wedding gown for the bride to wear at her rehearsal dinner in November. The taffeta and lace dress was previously worn by her grandmother in 1962, which means the wedding gown is 62 years old! Part of the restyle was washing the dress to remove all the yellowing and the musty odor. I used my top loading washing machine tub to soak the dress, using Restoration fabric cleaner. I filled the wash tub and only soaked the dress, but DID NOT allow the washing machine to go through an actual cycle. I would periodically swish the dress around and soaked it for 6 hours. I gently squeezed the water out of the dress, while the wash tub drained. I put the dress through another 6 hour soaking, then rinsed the dress and allowed it to dry. The dress came out gorgeous! The only thing that I should have done differently is remove the covered buttons before washing. The metal oxidized and left black spots on the buttons. It did not harm the dress. The aged yellowing completely washed out of the dress to a slight off-white, winter white, light ivory color. The smell was greatly decreased, but not completely gone. The bride responded that it was faint and tolerable. The taffeta fabric, delicate lace and tulle lace sleeves were not damaged whatsoever. I used a steamer to remove the wrinkles after drying. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product if you have any vintage/antique fabric to clean. The important thing to remember when you are working with vintage/antique fabrics (especially wedding gowns), DO NOT RUSH!! You need to allow sufficient time to achieve the best results.
