So far, so good. Soled a major problem for me.
Great cables so far. Resolved a big problem I was having transferring files between (separately) an external platter hard drive, external Blu Ray burner (both old school) and a modern laptop with solid state drive. Was using/trying multiple X-in-1 USB hubs and 90% of file transfers would start just fine but quickly slow down and freeze in the middle of transfer. These cables made every transfer happen without freezing since there was no device in between the external drive and laptop. I’m less worried about speed, but it’s clear speeds are quite good, well above USB 2.0. For the few that really need a cable between USB B 3.0 and USB C, this should do the trick. I have a lot of Cable Matters cables and they all are well made and reliable (keeping in mind no manufacturer is perfect). This is no different. As I say in almost every review, longevity and consistency matter probably the most in devices like cables. I just got these, and will report back if they fail prematurely. Otherwise, these are probably better than risking a no-name brand purchase.

Solid Build Quality, But Connection and Speed Have Caveats
After searching for a reliable USB-C to USB-B 3.0 cable for my printer and external hard drive setup, I landed on this Cable Matters option and have been using it daily for both personal and work tasks. The build quality genuinely stands out — the cable feels sturdy, the connectors have a solid construction, and the black color matches exactly what's shown in the listing, which I appreciated since it blends cleanly into my desk setup. That said, a couple of things are worth mentioning for anyone doing research. The connection can be a bit stiff and awkward to plug in, especially on the USB-B end — it takes some effort to seat properly. I also noticed transfer speeds running noticeably slower compared to a similar Wavelink cable I own, which was a mild surprise given the 3.0 spec. It works reliably once connected, just don't expect peak performance across the board. Overall, if durability and aesthetics are your priority, this cable delivers. For speed-sensitive tasks, you might want to compare options before committing.

It works for anything needing this type of connection.
Works great for my old Dell Touch screen. So now I am able to connect to my laptop with the other two screens.

Perfect. Soft. Durable. Flexible. Reliable. Packaged well.
Reliable data transfer. I've transferred many terabytes with perfect verification and no interruptions. My bottleneck was a spinning HDD, so I can't attest to the speed, but it was as fast as I needed it to be. Length was accurate. Importantly, the cable is packaged in a smooth loop rather than being creased, resulting in a no-kink cable. I was happy to pay the price for a brand I know and trust for cables. I used this to plug an external hard drive dock into the Thunderbolt port of a Mac Mini. I realized that I do not get Thunderbolt speeds and I only get USB speeds, but that was my intention. The Mac liked this cable and so did my external hard drive dock, which originally came with a USB A to USB B 3.0. Perfect!

USB-B Connector Was Bent
Purchased this to connect a regular USB3 hub to a USB-C port on a dock. The larger end of the cable (the USB-B end) would not plug into the dock, and upon closer inspection I saw that it was crushed a bit, bent out of shape (and did not appear to be shipping damage). I was going to return it, but I was able to bend it back into usable shape with a screwdriver. Works fine.

Works with a MacBook Air and an external hard drive
Good quality cable, used it to connect a 2025 MacBook Air to an OWC Mercury Elite Pro external hard drive for Time Machine backups, worked without issue.

Not getting advertised USB 3.0 connection speeds
UPDATE: 5 stars. Cable Matters contacted me and made things right. First, they shipped me a replacement cable free-of-charge. Unfortunately, that one did not show any improvement with my particular drive. When I let them know, they issued a full refund no questions asked. So while this product did not work as I required for my particular device, I could not have asked for any better customer service. So my experience suggests there's no risk in trying this product if it's what you're looking for. ORIGINAL 2-STAR REVIEW: I purchased this cable to connect my OWC Mercury Elite Pro USB 3 Enclosure to my 2017 iMac. Physically, the cable works fine -- on one end plugging into the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C compatible) port on the back of my iMac, and the other end plugging into the USB Type B port on my external drive. I expected this arrangement to support USB 3 "up to 5 Gbps" connection which is advertised in the product description, in order to get maximum performance out of my external drive. However, when using this cable to connect my drive, the drive reports itself (via macOS System Report) as having a max speed of 480Mbps which is USB2 speed not USB3. To check the drive itself, I connected it with the standard USBA/B cable that came with the drive, and it reports itself as having max speed to 5 Gbps which is true USB 3. So I know the drive/enclosure itself supports the faster speed. I've included images of both macOS system reports. This cable will not work for me as I need maximum performance for my external drive. NOTE: I also know the problem isn't the Thunderbolt 3 connector on my computer. Using a USB C to Micro-B 3.0 cable on the same Thunderbolt 3 port on my Mac, I am getting full USB 3 speed on a separate external drive which uses the Micro-B connector.

It's the one cable I didn't have...
It's a cable. I was shocked when I didn't have this specific cable in my Mystery Cable Box, so I had to buy it. I use it to connect my Scansnap scanner to the computer directly. This changed everything--this is more an indictment of the scanner's terrible wifi experience, but once I got this cable, I didn't have to fight the wifi anymore. I'm now moving forward on my quest to digitize and shred the world. It's all thanks to this cable.

These cables are HIGH QUALITY and very reliable performers!
Cable Matters delivers with their entire range of USB cables. Excellent quality cables that deliver the speed that they are supposed to. Much better than some of the cheap and good looking braided options available on Amazon. I have swapped out all of my USB cables for Cablematters and I don't regret it.

Preforms well
Purchased this lead as the lead that came with my 5bay disk caddy was a little short to position it on the left hand side of my desk. It preformes very well with no loss of speed in data transfer.
