Essential guide book for motoring your way through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks
I purchase several guide books and hiking trail maps for our recent trip to Big Sky, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Bozeman. This book quickly became my go-to guide book while we made our way through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. It is very well-organized and provides just enough information to not get the user bogged down reading and missing the sights. I found it to be extremely helpful as we navigated our way through both parks, helping us to find lesser-known spots to stop along our route, gas stations, and "facitlities" (those near smaller picnic areas are likely to be somewhat less stinky than others). It includes historical information about sights along each route. The parks provide maps upon entry, which are also great, but this little book by virtue of its size is easier to handle in the car. I would recommend this to anyone traveling within these two parks.

The maps seem to be a little small
I probably wouldn't purchase it again

I love this book
This book has a wealth of information and it is a wonderful size to travel with you! I read through and highlighted parts that I was particularly interested before my trip but it was even better when I was in Yellowstone and Grand Teton where I was actually seeing what the book was talking about. I even let it to my friend who went to these parks this summer and she appreciated having it with her! I have even enjoyed it since my trip as I scrapbook and journal my trips and I have more to reference than in my actual travel journal. I am very happy to have purchased this book and hope to return to the places in it!

Good driving guide to accompany a general guide
I purchased 2 guides for Yellowstone/Teton - the Moon Guide and Nat Geo.The Moon Guide was a good guide to prepare for the trip - more detailed information on flora and fauna, history, activities, places to eat and a lot of information fo Gateway cities. On the other hand, the NG guide is the ideal side-kick for drives. For every section of road on the main Yellowstone loop roads as well as the Teton main road, there is a dedicated map and highlights of the main attractions and activities, as well as the locations of places to eat or pick up supplies or fuel. My cell reception was virtually non-existent outside of the amenities areas, so it this guide was a handy resource to keep me going. Again, I still think a more detailed guide and probably some internet research beforehand is essential to figuring out what you want your experience to look like (geyser eruption times, ease of hiking trails, etc.) but this thin guy is worth it.

Wow! Best of the Best
Haven't been to these parks yet, but going in a month. Bought a number of books, and scoured the net for information. This book is the best we've found. Information is is current, and bountiful.

Very good travel guide of Yellowstone
I'll be heading to Yellowstone this September. This book has been very helpful in helping to plan my 9-day itinerary. The descriptions are brief, but exactly what's needed for planning. Then I incorporate a couple of other books that provide more detail on photographing the park (what, when, how), and I have a recipe for success.Post-trip reviewI used this book quite a lot at Yellowstone and found it very helpful in navigating the park. It was very handy and easy to use. Was well worth the the small investment. This was my third trip to Yellowstone, but the first time I investigated nearly every part of the park. This book made it easy to do that.

Good as a road map
It was not any good as a guide to what to visit but first class as a road map to the parks. We used it along with the park maps provided to us at the park gates.

Really useful book
This is an excellent book and one of the most useful for us in our trip to Yellowstone and the Tetons. You just have to get used to the linear layout of the map / information. You won’t regret buying it.
