I purchased this book intending to use it to learn how to disciple and it DOES THAT. But really I am in a place of needing a disciple myself - and surprise the book DOES THAT TOO. By reading the author's detailed approaches (identifying and dealing with) to common discipleship challenges, I was able to see my own challenges and see how a good disciple would lead me through them!I am so very pleased the Lord provided this resource to me. It is full of awesome, practical, biblical, and down-to-earth wisdom. No preachy puffed loftiness, just honest, real approaches to how to disciple folks in the Lord. Amazing!

This book is a must-read for all Christ-followers. The beginning is a little bit of a slow start (for impatient and excited people such as myself) but if you keep reading, there are golden nuggets of truth and guidance to be found. The authors were thorough and gave many helpful examples. I have been recommending the book to everyone and keep it nearby as a resource!

I have gone back to this book several times in my own discipleship ministry. It is an incredible resource and maintains a focus on the right things when it comes to discipleship. The first two chapters are incredibly visionary and the rest acts as a very practical guide to the pursuit of personal discipleship in the church. Definitely a must-read for anyone who takes multiplication for Christ seriously.

This is a great book from a great author. I recommend this book for anyone who is interested in discipling (personally leading, mentoring) a younger believer. It has great, comprehensive advice that is much needed in today's autonomous and self-driven culture. Definitely recommended--If you want to be an effective Christian leader, this book should be in your arsenal.

If you only have one book in your library about discipleship (other than the Bible) this should be it! This is not just a theoretical book but one that has been tested and tried in the fire of real life. This book is written by a church leader who is practicing every day what he teaches in this book and it IS the gospel. This author's church in Columbus Ohio is a shining example of a New Testament church. New converts are not just left to wonder what they should do next they are discipled and ushered in to a deeper walk with Christ. I could not wait for this practical, "how to" manual because I know how lives are touched by the truth of scripture at this church. This book will challenge the church "status quo" and how we do (or are not doing) discipleship. You will read it more than once!

If you are contemplating mentoring others or are already, doing things by organic principles will surely give you better results. Things in this life tend to happen more naturally, rather than forcing things such as, relationships, growth, study, growing in intimacy and awareness. This book would be a useful tool is understanding basic principles in cultivating relationships with God and others.

Exactly what I've been looking for, a practical book on mentoring others in a discipling relationship. I am looking forward to sharing this book with other men in our church to get a ministry of mentoring going as small groups doesn't seem to work for many men.
